Dave Navarro Hosts Spike TV's "Ink Master" First-Ever Tattoo Competition Reality Show

via press release:

In next week’s episode entitled Monumental Mistakes premiering on Tuesday, August 27 (10:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT) tempers boil over when artists get the chance to tattoo series host and Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro.  Navarro reveals that he will be the human canvas for that week’s ‘Flash Challenge’ where artists are tested on dimension.  Each of the contestants – we now are down to nine artists, from the original 16 – must sketch one good luck and one bad luck tattoo with two artists being selected to actually ink Navarro.  Navarro picks the two artists who will be doing the good luck and bad luck tattoos on him. The artists only have 90 minutes on the clock to tattoo Navarro and they must perform their tattoos at the same time.

Ink Master

“Ink Master” is Spike TV’s hit tattoo competition-reality series where 16 tattoo artists from around the country battle it out in permanent ink to win a $100,000 cash grand prize, an editorial feature in Inked magazine and the bragging rights title of ‘Ink Master.’ The series, now in its third season, is hosted by musician and tattoo aficionado Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and judged by renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez (“Miami Ink”) and Oliver Peck (Elm Street Tattoo).  Each week “Ink Master” contestants compete in various tattoo challenges that are designed to test the artists’ technical skills and on-the-spot creativity on actual “Human Canvases.” At the end of each episode, one artist is named the winner and another is sent home, not having what it takes to be an ‘Ink Master.’  The masterpieces these artists create will last forever, but so will their mistakes.  New episodes premiere on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT.

Dave has space for “more” tattoos? The good news is that science is getting better at removing them, if they mess up. Great guitarist, at any rate.
