Wow! Motive actually went up from last week!

  • rob60990

Motive’s best rating in about 2 months. Too little too late.

  • Mon

ABC please renew Motive. It might actually do better at 10pm.

  • John A

Motive might still come back on ABC.

  • CarShark

I think Wipeout’s doing pretty well, for what its worth.

  • John K.

I believe CTV already renewed Motive in Canada, so it will likely be cheap for ABC to buy it for next summer.

  • Azzman

    Yayy Motive!

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

CBS looks really good until the Elementary repeat. To be fair, Big Brother isn’t as compatible of a lead in as Person of Interest, but a .7 is still super low compared to the 1.8-2.1 the rest of the night

  • Chris

Is Motive protected to some extent by being a Canadian show, so it doesn’t actually cost ABC much money to put on the air? (And if so, does that mean we need to worry more about its ratings in Canada when trying to figure out whether it’ll be renewed or not?)

  • John A

Its not just Elementary repeating badly everything not named ‘The Big Bang Theory’ is repeating low for CBS.

  • James C.

Hollywood Game Night is incredibly young-skewing. I can’t believe NBC didn’t make a bigger order than 10 episodes. It’s cheap to make and does amazing in the demo. I wouldn’t be surprised if another network rips it off, or if NBC creates a similar companion show.

actually , Big Bang came in at 2.0 that is up .4 from last week , and Big Brother was just down .1 which given the outage of TWC is still rather impressive

  • Networkman

Fans of Big Brother do not stick around to watch Elementary. I watch Big Brother and after it goes off, I switch over to Hollywood Game Night. I wonder if Under the Dome could receive even higher demos airing after Big Brother. That show may be more compatible with the reality show.

    Please, stop.

This has been explained dozens of times already.

Only ~3 million homes are affected by the CBS/TWC blackout (and they still have the option of watching via terrestrial broadcast). Nationally, this has virtually no impact on CBS’ ratings. Even for their most watched shows, the expected ratings hit is less than a tenth of a ratings point for A18-49.

Motive, like Saving Hope, will continue to air in Canada. But I don’t expect a new season on ABC.

Elementary repeats are doing about the same as other CBS drama repeats. CSI is the only show to consistently get 1.0 or higher for repeats, which is odd since NCIS, NCIS LA, and Criminal Minds are all rated higher for originals and yet don’t repeat quite as well. Elementary is doing the same as NCIS, NCIS LA, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, Person of Interest, Hawaii Five-0, and Blue Bloods.

CBS is probably hoping for slightly better with the Big Brother lead-in, but Criminal Minds repeats aren’t much higher while Unforgettable is a bit better but also original. Elementary is also though the only show to face similar competition of original episodes of a police procedural against Rookie Blue.
