I watched the show once…I believe the premier. It was ok. Sorry to the fans. I cannot believe this show was ONLY on two seasons. It seems like it was on forever!!!!!

I’m confused. No big fan of the show but it seemed just as good as anything else they run — and the ratings were right on par with the other new shows as well. Apparently there’s more to the story that we don’t know.

The ratings where same ratings The Exes gets and that one did get renewed, and I once read an interview with TVLand big shot saying how all their sitsoms run on same budget, so can’t be that Happily Divorced cost more to produce.
I suspect a change of power inside the company that probably had a dislike for either Fran or the projects from the guy who had his seat in the company before him.

I am so disappointed by this news as I was looking forward to the new season. I had figured that the show would be renewed since it still had ratings of 1 million plus. I knew something was up when TV Land kept delaying their renewal decision. I do have to admit the additional 12 episodes that were ordered for the second season were weak. The Joan Collins storyline seemed forced and out of place. It was as if the producers had run out of ideas and quickly threw something together. I feel Happily Divorced still had potential for a long run. Maybe another cable network could pick the show up. Are you listening TBS or Lifetime?

THANK GOD!!! Crying and moaning cuz you don’t have a man was sad enough at 35. At 57 it’s just pathetic. Plus… If I remember right one episode she thought she was pregnant?? Seriously?? Sounds like Fran can’t face her age.

I’d call this a mercy killing. The writing was just awful and the there was less than zero chemistry between Fran and the actor playing her ex husband. The Nanny had chemistry into the stratosphere for every involved. Also, it had its own identity and stuck with it. Happily Divorced had none of that.

Watched half of the first season and I couldn’t even finish it. It was terrible. I am shocked it went on for a second season.

Why do people think The Exes would get cancelled its been TVLand second highest rated show (some weeks it’s #1). I’m guessing people haven’t been following the ratings much these days

this sucks, i really loved this show.

Why did you cancel this show?
It was a very good show.
Funny, elegant jokes, classy situations, and excellent actors and actresses.
    Please, re-consider your decision.
    It is a good show!!!!!

I never heard of it. By the looks of the has-beens, nobodies and the one big-eared queer in the pix…it looks absolutely awful.

Finally, a network did the right thing! Happily Divorced was disgusting, and very offensive to normal people. The show forced sexual deviancy and perversion on the viewers. Keep this garbage off of my tv. All shows need to be of a high standard and uphold moral values.

  • Martin J.

For the record, I do like Fran Drescher as an actress. I hope she can get another show that doesn’t push the sexual deviancy stuff.

I agree, the ‘waaahh I want a man’ schtick is so 1950’s. Maybe if 3rd season, she would have settled down with the British neighbor?

And her character was supposed to be 46-ish, but her 50-something-ness still showed in her voice. Stars try too hard to be a decade younger. Only seems to work with 25 y/olds playing HS kids.

  • Tomcatt630

Oh, and Martin J, guess what? We ain’t going anywhere.

As someone else opined, I did try to like this show. Really, I did. I just couldn’t seem to get with it for some reason. Won’t be missed.
