From my watching of Whose Line (the only CW show I’m watching this summer) it seems, by the amount of commercials promoting Reign, and also by the way the CW has been scheduling Reign (bumping its premiere, and giving it a big lead-in) they are worried about Reign. Why in the world then did they put it in the fall? You know The 100 would do way better than Reign! The CW is one of the worst networks for a show like Reign. Of all the major networks, it would fit best on ABC or NBC, and I doubt it would do well there, either.

Y’all know why got picked up and given the post-Vampire Diaries spot, right? Out of all the CW shows 8 are from Warner Bros and 3 are from CBS. Those 3 CBS shows are Beauty and the Beast, Reign and Star-Crossed. Since The CW is owed by both, they needed to appear that they were being fair with their programming/scheduling.

  • Dan

I think all 3 shows will get full seasons (I expect Carrie Diaries to be the cancellation but air 13 episodes) but if one of the fall series doesn’t do as we’ll it will likely be Reign. Still if it doesn’t get 22 it may get 18 eps at least to have enough episodes to last until something else replaces it. I think both Originals and tomorrow people will so all in their time slots paired with Supernatural and Arrow

  • Dan

I meant to say Originals and Tomorrow people will do well in their time slots.

  • Wright

They all look good. I’m patiently waiting for Star Crossed though.

  • Brandy

@Dan,CWs said Reign will be a “limited series” as will The 100.CW also has three new shows for midseason:The Hundred,Famous in 12,Star _Crossed, which leaves little room for most of the new shows to get full season.

  • Jared

I’m really looking forward to Star Crossed but The Tomorrow People is probably the only other new show ill be watching this season on the CW.

  • Brandy

Im looking foward to Reign,The Originals and possibly Star_Crossed.

  • r0ckmypants

@HV – Wouldn’t you think that promoting it well and giving it the best lead-in on the network would mean the CW is happy with Reign, not worried for it?

@Brandy – Reign hasn’t been announced as a limited series.

I guess The CW is expecting The Tomorrow People to sell itself, because that’s the most generic key art they could have possibly come up with. The Originals’ poster looks great, though.

    @Dan and Brandy

Reign will be a limited series for the fall only, while the 100 may be a limited series, but also may run full seasons in the future.

I am curious what the CW’s spring schedule will look like. Assuming the Originals and the Tomorrow People get full seasons, Thursdays at 9 and Fridays at 8 and 9 will be open for the 100, Star-Crossed, and Famous in 12 (reality). If the CW wants to avoid airing a new scripted series on Fridays, they will have to bump Hart of Dixie or Beauty and the Beast (or one of the other freshmen shows) to Fridays. Hopefully the 100 gets the post-Vampire Diaries slot.

The pilots for Tomorrow People and the 100 were decent and had potential. The Originals seems solid. The trailers for Reign however, looked horrible. I had high hopes for the series when it was announced thinking it would go more in the direction like Starz The White Queen with more supernatural elements. From the trailers though, Reign looks like a 15th century 90210. Hope I’m wrong and it turns out good.

Reign should’ve come out in mid-season since its limited.

Star Crossed is the one that should’ve aired right away behind TVD.

  • halloween

yawn…they look so generic and badly photoshopped

Gut reaction: Reign will be this year’s Beauty & Beast, i. e. won’t bomb right out of the gate.

In fact, the only reason I think it might not make it is that the CW will have a very good year. I expect both Tomorro Ppl and Originals to be hits.

@Justin – “Reign will be a limited series for the fall only, while the 100 may be a limited series, but also may run full seasons in the future.”

Source? The CW, from what I could find on a myriad of entertainment websites, has not officially announced Reign as a limited series. The only series they mentioned as possibly being limited was The 100.

  • Brandy

Rockmypants, two sites in early May said Reign will be at most a limited series and another said CW was looking at Reign,The 100 as limited series.I tried to post the sites names yesterday but my comment didn’t post.

To all the people discussing about Reign and The 100 being a limited series:
I read the interviews with the cw president about that stuff, and from what i gathered is that he mixed up the terminology of what a limited series actually is. What it sounded like to me was that he meant a limited series as in they would only get 13 episodes per season, i think people took it as the shows being miniseries and would only last 1 season. I could be wrong, but the whole interview was confusing, but that’s what it sounded like to me.
