SCOTT PELLEY LEADS CBS NEWS’ LIVE COVERAGE OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MARCH ON WASHINGTON –
ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28

CBS EVENING NEWS Anchor and Managing Editor Scott Pelley will lead CBS News’ live coverage of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, including President Barack Obama’s speech from the Lincoln Memorial, on Wednesday, August 28 on the CBS Television Network.

The Network’s coverage begins on CBS THIS MORNING (7:00-9:00 AM) with extensive reports on the anniversary, including a live report from Pelley in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, August 28.

Pelley will anchor CBS News’ live coverage of the President’s remarks on Wednesday afternoon. Pelley will be joined by CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett from the White House, CBS News Correspondent Jeff Pegues from the National Mall, and presidential historian and CBS News Consultant Douglas Brinkley from Washington, D.C.

Pelley will also anchor the CBS EVENING NEWS (6:30-7:00 PM, ET) live from Washington, D.C., with additional coverage of the anniversary.

Also on Wednesday, CBSNews.com will stream the President’s remarks live. CBS Radio News will provide live, anchored coverage of the President’s speech, in addition to short-form special reports throughout the afternoon. CBS News’ Polling Unit will release a poll on race relations in the United States and the impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
