    We did warn you.

  • JacobYates

    Ouch.

  • Kissan

    Whoa. BB went DOOOOOOWN!!! Is that a series low for BB? I knew Motive and RB were gonna fall but I didn’t know they were gonna fall that much. I think that was HGN’s series low right? Wow even 2 1/2 Men repeats went down a lot.

  • FringeFan

    Tying series low for “Big Brother” is it not? Surprisingly, ratings actually feel from last week even though the racist was finally given the boot this week.

  • FringeFan

    *fell not feel

  • Billy

    No surprises here. NFL took over the night with loads of preemptions all around the country.

  • CrimTV

    The series low of Big Brother is a 1.6 not a 1.8!

  • rob60990

    Is there any reason why CBS did not show TBBT last night?

    I believe this is the last week of all these pre-emptions right?

  • DenverDean

    LOL at NBC’s ridiculous PR this morning for HGN. The networks shouldn’t even bother on this night – traditionally NFL plays all games of last week of preseason on same night to avoid any unfair advantages for first regular season game.

  • Max Vrany

    @rob60990, they can only show each episode 3 times. They may have realized they didn’t have enough re-airings left to last the summer and needed to take a week off.

  • Billy

    @rob60990

    I think the answer is self explaining. Why in the world would CBS waste a repeat of their most valuable show in TBBT when lots of people around the country were being preempted?

    CBS is using TBBT wisely by putting it on Mondays at 9:30 on 9/9 and 9/16 so it can give a good lead in to the final episodes of Under The Dome.

    Smart decisions by a smart network. CBS can only repeat each TBBT episode twice so why waste one it on a night like last night ? Very smart move.

    they can only show each episode 3 times. They may have realized they didn’t have enough re-airings left to last the summer and needed to take a week off.

    It wasn’t done out of necessity as they have almost a dozen airings of season six episodes that haven’t been scheduled yet, including the third airing of the episode that would have been on last night (#621).

    It’s as simple as CBS not wanting to waste an airing of a show that repeats very well on a night where they were preempted in 40% of the country.

    @rob60990
    I believe this is the last week of all these pre-emptions right?

    Yes, this is it for preseason football. In two weeks, we’ll be back to the usual two markets being preempted on Mondays and Thursdays for simulcasts of cable games, however.

    Why are the ratings seeing sharp falls? And why were they estimated so high to begin with!??!

  • Ultima

    @Phil
    Why are the ratings seeing sharp falls? And why were they estimated so high to begin with!??!

    There were preemptions for NFL preseason games in most of the country (e.g. CBS was preempted in 40% of the country).

    Since the games do better than normal programming, it inflates the ratings initially, but then those viewers are removed when the final ratings are calculated.

    @Phil

    Short answer: football

    Long answer is coming when my comment gets out of monderation… /confused

  • rob60990

    I’m sure CBS is saving those TBBT reruns when We Are Men tanks.

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

    @rob60990
    I think they will just air Mike & Molly behind HIMYM if We Are Men Tanks

  • Justin

    @Patrick Ausgewahlt

    I suspect Mike & Molly will replace either We Are Men or The Millers for the whole season, while TBBT repeats will replace the other until Bad Teacher takes over for midseason.

  • Cody

    Big Brother had a crazy preemption rate of like 40%. The drop was to be expected.

  • rob60990

    “I think they will just air Mike & Molly behind HIMYM if We Are Men Tanks”

    Ya but they would want to give Mike & Molly at least a few weeks of advertising before they premiere it.
