TV Ratings Sunday: 'Big Brother' Falls, 'Unforgettable' & 'Secret Millionaire' Down, MDA Telethon Low, 'TV's Funniest of the Funniest' Mediocre

 Update: Program ratings have arrived

CBS was number one among adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On CBS Big Brother scored a 1.8 down 28 percent from last week's 2.5 adults 18-49 rating. Unforgettable garnered a series low 1.0 down 9 percent from last week's 1.1 adults 18-49 rating.

On NBC, the special TV's Funniest of the Funniest earned a 0.9  adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, the Fall Preview Special earned a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating, even with last year’s performance on September 2, 2012.  Secret Millionaire notched a 0.8 down 20 percent from last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating. The MDA Show of Strength Telethon scored a 0.2 adults 18-49 rating  down 60 percent from a 0.5 for the special TV's Dynamic Duos which aired in the time period on September 2, 2012. This is the first time the MDA Telethon aired on ABC, and the first time it was shortened to 2 hours from its traditional full day length.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Ouch for BB15…I guess with all the rumors that the show is fixed and Amanda’s BS attitude had taken a toll on the show..I for one just watch Thursday episode…

    Jerry Lewis had nothing to do with MDA ratings. Knew they’d be low, but wow though.

    BB15 will rebound back in the ratings this Thursday for the double eviction so no worries, it’s funny that people don’t realize that it’s LABOR DAY WEEKEND.

    I guess the MDA Telethon has seen better days. Reduced to just 2 hrs in primetime & it got destroyed. These truly are CW numbers who might have had a chance to beat ABC if they were on Sundays.

    I’m pretty sure the “documentary” about teachers that will air this Friday on CBS will get CW/MDA ratings as well.

    D T..you simply don’t know what you’re talking about. Jerry and his “Love Network” had EVERYTHING to do with the telethon ratings. There was a wealth of local community input for decades. Now there is no tote board, no local cut-ins, and no Jerry. MDA absolutely ruined the best fund raising apparatus in the country.

    If Jerry hosted the unpromoted primetime 2hr telethon on the Sunday before Labor Day, itd be the same ratings. Saying it was a no-win situation. Brad Pitt could have hosted and ratings would have barely gone up.

    Not that it would’ve mattered in the ratings, but most Fox programming was pre-empted last night in Cincinnati due to our annual labor day weekend fireworks show.
