Jon Stewart's Return to 'The Daily Show' Delivers Over 2 Million Viewers

Tuesday night, Jon Stewart returned to hosting duties on The Daily Show after taking the summer off to direct the movie Rosewater. The episode garnered over two million total viewers, an increase of 24 percent over the show's season-to-date average. Among the show's target Adults 18-34 demographic, Stewart's return delivered 640,000 viewers.

    That opening segment got really old really fast. With so much going on (not only the Syrian bombing issue, the funding of the Affordable Care Act, voter suppression in Republican-governed states, and the Lil Bub vs Grumpycat meme), I would have preferred having Jon come before the audience, maybe standing in front of the desk before being seated, and then doing the “Daily Show” as if nothing had happened.

    I preferred Oliver.
