Network Had Twelve of Top 25 Programs Among Adults 18-34 and Eleven Among Adults 18-49

 

 Blockbuster Novelas “Porque El Amor Manda”, “La Tempestad” and “Que Bonito Amor” Rank #1 In Their Time Periods Among Both Demographics

 

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights - Week of August 26, 2013 to September 1, 2013

 

  • For the week (M-SU), Univision ranked as the #1 broadcast network among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC in both demographics.  This marks the 14th consecutive week where Univision has ranked #3 or higher among both demographics.

 

  • Summer to date, Univision ranks as the #1 network among Adults 18-34 and #2 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, CBS, and FOX in both demographics.   

 

  • Univision out-delivered two or more of the English-Language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on each night this week among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

 

  •  This week, Univision had twelve of the top 25 programs among Adults 18-34 and eleven among Adults 18-49.

 

  • On Monday night, Univision ranked as the #1 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 and #2 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering, ABC, FOX, and NBC in each demographic.   Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for Adults 18-34; top 10 for Adults 18-49.

 

  • On Tuesday night, Univision ranked as the #1 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 and #2 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, CBS, and FOX in each demographic.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for both demographics.

 

  • On Wednesday night, Univision ranked as the #2 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 and #3 among Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC and CBS in each demographic.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 10 programs for both demographics.

 

  • On Thursday night, Univision ranked as the #1 broadcast network among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC in each demographic.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for both demographics.

 

  • On Friday, Univision ranked as the #1 broadcast network among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC in each demographic.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 5 programs for both demographics.

 

  • Airing “Sabado Gigante” (Giant Saturday), Univision ranked as the #2 broadcast network among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49, out-delivering CBS, FOX, and NBC in each demographic.  “Sabado Gigante” saw increases over the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (2.1 Million, +3%), Adults 18-49 (840,000, +2%), and Adults 18-34 (383,000, +9%).

 

  • On Sunday night ranked as the #3 broadcast network among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49, out-delivering ABC and NBC in each demographic.  Univision’s entire primetime lineup ranked among the top 20 programs for both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.

 

ü  At 7 p.m., Univision aired “Aqui y Ahora” (Here and Now), which averaged 1.4 Million Total Viewers 2+, 597,000 Adults 18-49, and 221,000 Adults 18-34.

ü Airing at 8:05 p.m., the finale of “Parodiando” averaged 2.7 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.2 Million Adults 18-49, and 418,000 Adults 18-34.

ü  Following “Parodiando” at 9:45 p.m., “Sal y Pimienta” (Salt and Pepper) saw increases over the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (2.3 Million, +10%), Adults 18-49 (977,000, +15%), and Adults 18-34 (326,000, +4%).

 

  • At 8 p.m., Univision’s novela “Porque El Amor Manda” (Because Love Rules) helped Univision rank as the #1 broadcast network for the hour (M-F) among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.  The novela saw increases over the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (4.1 Million, +3%), Adults 18-49 (2.1 Million, +4%), and Adults 18-34 (1.1 Million, +3%).

 

  • Univision’s 9 p.m. novela “La Tempestad” (The Storm) helped Univision rank as the #1 broadcast network for the hour (M-F) among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.  The novela averaged 3.7 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.9 Million Adults 18-49, and 919,000 Adults 18-34.

 

  • Univision’s 10 p.m. novela “Que Bonito Amor” (Beautiful Love) helped Univision rank as the #1 broadcast network for the hour (M-F) among both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.   The novela averaged 3.4 Million Total Viewers 2+, 1.7 Million Adults 18-49, and 721,000 Adults 18-34.

    Within a couple of years, Univision will likely win an entire season among broadcast networks in the 18-34 demo, and will probably also win a full season among broadcast networks in the 18-49 demo by the end of the decade as well.

    You can credit three things:

    (1) The continuing splintering of English-language viewing among numerous cable channels.

    (2) The rapidly-growing Hispanic population.

    (3) And the fact that there aren’t (yet) very many high-profile Spanish-language cable networks, which is unlike the case with English-language TV.
