TNT Latin America acquires broadcast rights for Under the Dome

Nobody gets in… nobody gets out. TNT announces the Latin America premiere

of the hit TV series Under the Dome

TNT announces the acquisition of Latin America broadcast rights for the television series Under the Dome from CBS Studios International, based on ‘master of suspense’ Stephen King’s bestselling novel. The television adaptation, developed by Brian K. Vaughan (Lost) and produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Amblin Television, will come to a television screen near you this November as part of this exclusive regional premiere.

After its huge success on television in the United States, a second season has been confirmed, with the first episode of next season scripted by Stephen King himself. TNT has secured the broadcast rights for both the first and second seasons.

Among the executive producers of the show are many notable industry veterans, such Steven Spielberg, Stephen King, Brian K. Vaughan (Lost), Neal Baer (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Stacey Snider, Justin Falvey (The Americans), Darryl Frank (The Americans)  and Jack Bender (Lost, The Sopranos),

On October 21, at 11:44am, a small town is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a massive, mysterious and invisible dome. Authorities and residents try to find out the secret behind the dome while facing their own fears and problems.

Under the Dome has a talented cast, led by Mike Vogel (Bates Motel, The Help), Rachelle Lefevre (Boston Legal), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Natalie Martínez (Broken City), Britt Robertson (The Secret Circle), Alexander Koch, Colin Ford (Family Guy), Nicholas Strong (Nashville), Jolene Purdy (Gigantic) and Aisha Hinds (Cult).

Under the Dome (aired in the US by CBS television) is the summer’s number one new program, averaging 14.5 million viewers according to Nielsen.

Mariano Cesar, Vice President in charge of TNT Latin America, commented: “With the acquisition of Under the Dome broadcast rights, we’ve secured for our viewers one of the most recent successes in the American television industry. The quality script, the engaging plot and Stephen King’s trademark will allow the show to go beyond the expectations of the genres’ fans, attracting a wide viewing audience.” He adds: “TNT is committed to the very best in entertainment. Shows such Under the Dome, along with others that we will announce soon, help us to achieve our objective.”

Is TNT doubling airing of Under the Dome like they do with Falling Skies?
Falling Skies airs in TNT and Space in Latin America at same night and same time.

Great news. I’m mexican, and TNT is one of the few networks that are still great. FOX, Warner and Sony suck!
