…and glad to see all shows up over last week, and 3 of 4 up over last year!

  • j

On Days I can’t stand Kristen/Eric.The story is so lame.Every other story is slow moving or doesn’t make sense.Y&R tribute shows were ok but Jill making it all about herself took away from who it should have been about.B&B is good no matter what actor or writer leaves.

Mike I’m only stating what was on News Feed several weeks ago.Trying to remember who even posted it.something like Huff Post internet magazine. Not sure which one.Said he was replacing it with news and many believe it was his religious belief is why he was removing it.Thats all it had about it.Don’t even know the owner or nothing about him.Just read that.Just hope no more NBC choses to remove it or put it on late hours. It can only hurt Days ratngs.I do hope Vegas fan all have the CW.

Look how BB is skyrocketing in growth, it’s amazing this little 30 minute show continues to shine. I’m so happy I have at least one daytime drama on CBS that I can thoroughly enjoy to watch (I used have 4 to chose from)because YR isn’t cutting the mustard in quality no matter how some will defend the show. This coming from a longtime viewer of CBS and please don’t mistake me I’m not bashing YR because I have a deep love YR. I just want it fixed and fixed right, once again by people in charge that don’t know YR’s style.

Thank the soap gods for the Bells & BB knowing how to produce good soap opera along with Bill’s remaining team at BB because it’s showing gloriously in the ratings. BB keeps growing quietly the last 2 years and while the other 3 are all over the map.

Glad to see DAYS up in total viewers. Since the female demo went low does that mean more men are watching it? Stay at home dads show nice! I’m loving the teasers Days is giving it just feels like something really dramatic is going to happen this fall. And I’m right if fan sites are correct.

So glad JJ is busted! That pot dealing douchebag dictates Jen’s life and she needs to slap him back to his senses! So what about his boarding school excuse and misses his dead dad, you don’t see Abbie mourning and she was the one stuck in an elevator when Jack died!

The hardcore rogue gangsta in Victor, Marlena & Nicole are coming out more all
To exploit Criminal Kristen before she walks the aisle with Brady, whom they are going to get married by his priest brother Eric, who Kristen drugged & sex taped with in a black wig!!! Haha when at the wedding the priest asks who disapproves of them marrying he raid his own hand lol

Chad is going to die this fall from brain cancer, the actor who played him his contract is up. That will either bring Abbie& Cameron together or furious that Cameron never told her about his cancer. But she has the hots for him. She’s going to be a rock this year helping out her troubled brother and her love depressed Jennifer.

Which leads to Dr. Daniel Jonas. An obvious fan favorite. He is going to be Jen’s boyfriend then future husband it’s written in the stars. But it’s going to be months of falling out and falling in and distractions they both will get flown at their faces until they say “I do” hopefully next year.

Nick is going to leave I feel. He’s always going to be sketchy and I don’t think Gabi will be his Bonnie & Clyde. Will & Sonny will threaten custody then Nick will get the boot. Or will Gabi give up rights to her un planned baby with Will, and start a new life with Nick and their future family, just out of Salem and off the show.

I think Bo will come back as a guest star just around the time Hope’s contract will end so fans can have one last yr of bo & hope then they will float on that fancy face boat with daughter Sierra.

It’s going to be sad to see 2 time Daytime Emmy winning ( last yr & this year), Chandler Massey who plays Will not only go but be replaced! Replaced? What actor can fill those shoes of not only daytime Emmys that the show hasn’t won alot in years but LGBT community awards Will’s storyline brought. Big big shoes to fill that not just some LA buff model could pull off in a second

Will & Sonny I feel will have a breakup then get back together.

Eric & Nicole might finally fall in love, but not without a hitch, especially if she’s scheming to can Kristen, which is holy especially if she works with Eric in church! Holy How Dare you!

Sami & EJ could stay together forever for the sake of their army of kids. Though Rafe’s poppin in and out of Sami’s life and the whole “what could have been” talk will linger & annoy EJ but not to a fight! Race has been in the hospital long enough. Which he’ll have an epic hospital escape now that his physical therapist secretly works for Stefano!

It’s never meant for Kate to be in a relationship! Ever! She has done so done so much evil in Salem and Karma is forever going to happen to any man who she pursues! Even if it’s Rafe!

    Unmanyways —

It either means more men, more teens, or more women over 50 or a combination of those 3.

  • Tom

General Hospital hits 2.1 for the 1 st time since April and retained the no 1 spot among 18-34 yet no press release from ABCD. Makes me nervous kids……..

  • Sean

@Tom ABC just hates the fact that GH is BY FAR the BEST they have! they just dont wanna admit that SOAPS Bring in those Key Demos! GO GH!

  • Mike

It’s not the job of ABC to admit it. The numbers are what they are. It is their job to promote the shows they support. For some reason they are not wanting to anymore. Up until the 50th they did but for some reason they aren’t anymore.

Even with them being in a legal battle with PP they didn’t even take one opportunity when ratings were up after the OLTL 3 returned to rub PP’s nose in it.

  • Nick

While I respect your feelings about GH, your cheerleader/shameless shill act toward GH wore thin a long time ago. It’s excessive, over the top, and nauseating, IMO. If GH is really “by far the best” that ABC has, as you say, that’s really a sad commentary. On the surface, these ratings and key demos are still NOT that great for this day in/day out snoozefest. Didn’t you guarantee and boast not that long ago that GH was going to climb above 3 million viewers and get to #1 in women 18-49? Are we supposed to forget that? How about actually admitting that you were dead wrong about that?

Don’t pop on here boasting and pounding your chest about how terrific GH is (that’s your OPINION, NOT a fact) when the numbers show even the slightest increase if you’re going to go into complete hiding during weeks when the ratings are down (many times recently). Don’t think that we don’t notice that, pal.

  • Mike

I just wonder if GH is even still maintaining Live plus 7 of over 3 million. There were several articles early in the year that stated they were. There has not been one mention of it in months. AT the time GH’s Live plus 1 was staying in the neighborhood of dailies of 2.7 or higher. They have not done that in quite some day on a regular basis.

The last day they had a daily of over 3 million was in either February or April. I can’t remember if they got there during the Nurse’s Ball but before that the last time was when Kin Shriner returned.

On Y&R I hope that they will get good numbers for the Memorial Episodes. It would be nice to see them over 5 mil again. But I don’t hold out any hope at this point of them staying there or holding on to them.

  • TimsDale4ever

I keep watching Y&R to see the fallout of Katherine’s death and the (potential) amazing and interesting stories that could follow — but alas it’s been back to the dreaded 4 again (although minus Avery). The obsession the producers/writers have had with these 4 characters over the last year continues to be a complete mystery to me.

  • jonboyelk

@Nick Not to partake in the squabble here, but GH has improved vastly over the past month and has NOT been a snoozefest.

  • Joey S

Not to start a flame war but Nick this is a public board, if sean wants to praise GH he has the right to, just like you have the right to dislike it. I really feel your comments were just looking to start a flame war that happens far too often here.

I suggest if you are going to tell Sean to not come on here boasting about GH that you don’t come on here calling the show a snoozefest, etc.

  • Chrisann D

Sean I am loving GH too. Love Y&R and I am enjoying Days. So glad to see the soaps doing better! Don’t have a clue why Nick has such a problem with your posts….but oh well. Go Soaps!!

  • Mike

This is from a new study of viewing habits that Nielsen was asked to do.

” Online video viewing reported by Nielsen equated to 2.3% of total TV viewing among the whole population, although unmeasured tablet viewing should add significantly to this amount. Among the population who actually watch online video content, the equivalent of 4.4% of viewing was reported to have occurred via online video. Among kids 2-11 only, the 1.7% of total viewing occurred via online video, with 3.1% of viewing among the sub-set that actually watched online video during the quarter. Historical data was characterized as not trend-able due to a processing error which rendered 2Q12 as inflated. However, we also note that these figures are likely understated given the absence of inclusion of tablets (although with only 27 million households – or around a quarter of the total – in possession of tablets as of 2Q13, our guess is that at best online video viewing might be double the stated figure).”

The whole article can be read here on the site. It is very interesting.

So at the most with tablets included 8.8% of the population watches TV online.

That is still why advertisers are not willing to pay that high for ads online. They are not reaching a significant amount of the population.

If you read the whole article Live Viewing is flat with what it was, but DVR viewing is up.

Online viewing is still the future, but it is still not enough at this point to make the difference that fans make it out to be.

  • Mike

Above that 8.8% of the population should have read 8.8% of TV viewing. Since it said it was double, I doubled the 4.4 as I wasn’t sure if they were doubling the 2.3% or the 4.4%.

  • Joey S

Interesting Mike. I always believed that online viewing is very low. Most people still prefer to watch stuff on TV. I think as more people get smart TV’s that will allow them to watch online TV it may increase but right now I don’t see that happening too soon and this study is definitely very interesting!

  • jonboyelk

Personally I hate online viewing. And connecting the laptop to the tv for widescreen viewing is a pain in the ass. And you have to get up to put it on hold! I gave up OLTL because I just didn’t enjoy it. Just saying.

  • kevin

Wow, Nick, is it really that crucial? I’m with Joey S. We all may come here and post what we want, as long as it’s appropriate. If you don’t agree with a post, is it really that crucial? Just ignore what you don’t like, or agree with.
