BURBANK, Calif. (September 9, 2013) — Gossip Girl’s identity may have been revealed in the finale of the hit drama series from Warner Bros. Television, The CW and Alloy Entertainment, but now there’s an all-new, all-seeing undercover gossip source delivering the goods and premiering this fall on Extra. The “Gossip Girl on Extra” segment will debut during the week of September 9, 2013, as the popular syndicated entertainment newsmagazine Extra begins its landmark 20th season from its brand-new headquarters at Universal Studios Hollywood.

“Los Angeles and New York are the epicenters of entertainment news,” said Extra’s Senior Executive Producer Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey. “The new segment ‘Gossip Girl on Extra’ will capitalize on that proximity to celebrity news and instantly deliver all the inside news and latest gossip to viewers hungry for exciting dish on their favorite stars.”

“Gossip Girl is the perfect brand to deliver entertainment news to Extra’s audience, and we are excited to see this fan favorite creatively return to TV,” said Alloy Entertainment President Les Morgenstein.

“Gossip Girl on Extra” will air twice weekly on Extra, offering viewers an inside look at the latest Hollywood scoop, from star sightings and style breakthroughs to romantic hookups and — sigh — bad breakups. “Gossip Girl on Extra” reports will also be featured on the show’s website at ExtraTV.com and will be supported in social media via the @extratv, @gossip girl and @alloyent Twitter accounts, as well as the Facebook pages of Extra, the Gossip Girl brand and Alloy Entertainment.

You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl … on Extra.

    The whole premise of Gossip Girl was actually quite brilliant, too bad the show only remained good for the first two seasons. I think it is nice to see GG take a new form!

    @Sara
    I actually liked the whole show. This summer I rewatched it and when you watch 2 or 3 episodes per day, I enjoyed more the fifth season (in my opinion, the worst season when it aired, but when I saw it for the second time I liked it more).

    At first I thought this meant Gossip Girl was being syndicated on Extra. Lol….. Question, is Gossip Girlstill syndicated on Style?

    I would argue it was good for 1.5 seasons; it jumped the shark after the Big Death which led to a bunch of stupidity and didn’t really recover. Though I would enjoy some later arcs – esp Queen Jenny and the awesome surprise Blair coupling near the end of the show.
