NOTE: Due to the nature of live  programming the ratings for  NBC & FOX (NFL Football) as well as CBS (US Open Tennis) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers.

NBC was number one among adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On NBC the season opener of Sunday Night Football, which featured a matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants  earned a 9.1 adults 18-49 rating from 8:30-11PM, down  from last year's Game #1 fast nationals (which earned a 9.8 from 8:30-11 and featured Pittsburgh at Denver). We have more data on last night's football ratings here.

On CBS Big Brother scored a 1.9, up a tenth from last week's 1.8  adults 18-49 rating. The summer season finale of Unforgettable garnered a series low 0.9, down a tenth from last week's series low 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    OMG @ SNF good numbers

Glad to see BB is falling i miss Helen and Elissa

    Breaking Bad was outstanding

  • RJ

My guess is the CBS shows will adjust two tenths each (at least) given there is a nine minute inclusion of the previous show.

  • TomZ

Well the simpsons repeat beat many of the originals epiosdes xD so did bob’s burgers (I think)…

  • CrimeDawg

Well you have to remember that in February there is this little thing called the Winter Olympics that usually get about 20+ million viewers for the 16 days.
That should help the inevitable NBC tanking in the spring.

  • Seth

Excellent for Big Brother. Best show on television besides Bethenny.

  • Mike

Hate to see BB up. Thursday night was my last of watching it. It started out just for this season, but I think I am done for good. 500 episodes and I never missed one. But I just can’t take the casting and interference anymore.

  • BigBrotherFan

Wikipedia listed Unforgettable with 13 episodes

  • BigBrotherFan

I really enjoyed the first season of Unforgettable because I like Poppy but it deserves to be canceled. I didn’t like the retooling and it became EVEN more cliché and CBS generic.

  • BigBrotherFan

I was completely disgusted with Andy and am only watching BIG BROTHER to see him get evicted. He’s so pathetic. It was kind of hard to watch them treat Elissa that way.

  • CrimTV

Even thought Big Brother is up a tenth from last week. I know we shouldn’t compare this to it’s Thursdays episode, but this is still down 7 tenths from the Thursday episode, obviously this may not have anything to do with Elissa’s eviction, but it could be, at least half of that 7 tenth, 900,000 approx 18-49 drop could be to do with that.

  • fouratsakka

i thought that unforgettable is 13 episode this season as in wikipedia ???

  • SVU: Hannibal Lector’s Dinner

Cbs was pushed back 52 minutes in east/central.

I would stop watching BB, but since there are only 4 episodes left I may ass well keep on. Besides there hadn’t been a glimpse of the Jury House since Judd came back in the house, I’m still holding out that they’ll replace the BB memories episode with nothing but the Jury House.

  • Dan W

Really surprised that Big Brother went up after Elissa, the only kind and decent player left, was evicted. I’m still watching only to see these five homophobic, bigoted, racist, misogynistic, perverted douche bags turn on each other one by one and get back stabbed. Also can’t wait to watch some of them find out they lost their jobs!!!

  • Greg

Unforgettable didn’t even had a chance. I hope they air the remaining episodes. Always sad when a show ends before airing its entirety.

  • Carl

So the BB ratings are actually up on this time last week, which was a terrific episode, and which had the people who were supposed to cause viewers to leave with them. I guess it shows the basic viewer is mostly just sticking with it to the end, barring some collapse on Wednesday and Thursday.

I know right he called he a liar ! Can you believe this? what a low life person I know that is just a game but he is like the most mean twisted sick sociopat , poor elissa she was begging him to not vore here out and that rat showed his real face.. blehh…

Last week was a holiday weekend, so BB almost tying with last week’s show is kind of bad.
