USA vs. Mexico World Cup Qualifier on UniMás Draws 7.5 Million Total Viewers

7.5 million tuned in to watch all or part of the U.S. Men’s National Team 2-0 victory over Mexico in a World Cup qualifying match yesterday on UniMás.  While the USA victory qualifies the team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, it also helped drive ratings victories for UniMás stations around the country, and ranked as the 4th most-viewed telecast ever on UniMás among both Adults 18-49 and total viewers.  Please see below for ratings highlights.

In key local markets, during the USA vs. Mexico World Cup qualifier (8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. ET):

·         UniMás stations had higher viewership that the Telemundo, Azteca, MundoFox and Estrella stations combined:
Among Persons 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix and Sacramento.

·         UniMás was the highest rated station during the USA vs. MNT World Cup Qualifier:
Among Persons 2+ in Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas and Phoenix
Among Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix and Sacramento
Among Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix and Sacramento

Nationally, the USA vs. Mexico World Cup qualifier:

·         Delivered 2,133,000 Adults 18-49 and 3,540,000 total viewers for the full broadcast (7:33 p.m. – 10:10 p.m. ET)

·         Averaged 2,513,000 A18-49 and 4,132,000 total viewers for the match portion of the telecast (8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. ET)

On social, the World Cup qualifier between Mexico and the United States on UniMás ranked as the No. 1 broadcast Spanish-language network TV show on Sept. 10th  in unique users and overall activity in social media (Source: SocialGuide and Trendrr).   In addition, UniMás ranked as the No. 1 broadcast Spanish-language network of the day in unique users and overall activity in social media (Source: SocialGuide and Trendrr).
