via press note:

The Live +3 numbers are in for last Monday-Wednesday and The X Factor premiere grew by +23% (from 2.2 to a 2.7) after three days of post-same day viewing:

  • This marks a significant uptick in the % of its A18-49 performance accounted for by post-same day playback within 3 days versus last season (+23% vs. +15% for last year’s 2-hour premiere) and the same absolute ratings gain as last season (+0.5).
  • In fact, with the L3 gains, The X Factor premiere now out-rates last week’s CBS’ Big Brother-Weds (2.7/9 vs. 2.5).
  • Also, the show’s core Adults 18-34 rating saw an even bigger gain versus Live + Same Day (+0.6 of a rating point – up +38%)

    Lol so desperate

  • Doug

Comparing themselves to a summer filler like Big Brother…?
    Ouch.

  • Christian

    @Doug

Might as well since they have summer-like ratings anyway… hahaha.

  • Michael

    2.7 that’s all?

  • Fred

Cowell anticipated a decline. He lowered the prize $$ to 1 Mil down, from 5 mil the past 2 seasons. And lowered the salary of the judges considerably.
So X FACTOR is probably profitable despite sinking ratings.
However if ratings continue to decline throughout the season I anticipate FOX to air it only 1 night next season (like ABC’s DWTS) if at all.

  • Flame

So it’s only down 0.7 now – still not good vs. zero competition.

  • rgxx

They should consider being a summer show – if that doesn’t work – cancel it.

  • Magnum

Up 23% to a still terrible number, congratulations!

  • liza

I think FOX is ok with these numbers, since they saved a looooot of money comparing this season to the previous one lol
