Which New Fall Broadcast TV Show Will Be Canceled First? (Poll)

The Cancellation Bear is awake after his summer hibernation and he's hungry.

Rookie broadcast primetime shows will begin premiering this week (although the official start of the season is Sept. 23), so it's  time to throw your hat in the ring and guess which new broadcast primetime show you think will be caught by the cancellation bear and canceled first!

Because comment thread lawyers are everywhere, let's be clear that for the purposes of this poll "canceled" means removed from its initially scheduled timeslot, either off the air entirely or rescheduled to a burn off timeslot, even if the network *claims* the show will return later.

Last season, CBS' Made In Jersey was the first show canceled on October 10.

What's your guess for this season's first to go?

While I've included all new shows in the poll (in randomized order) expected to premiere before Christmas, the ones premiering late are obviously very highly unlikely to be canceled first, but the adventuresome are more than welcome to take a shot.

Like they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often.

There are just many “BAD” shows too choose from.

Really tough to predict this season.

The comedies are the easiest to replace. CBS has Mike & Molly waiting, NBC has Community waiting, Fox has Raising Hope waiting and ABC has Suburgatory waiting.

Fox is premiering earliest but they have been patient with cancellations recently. Dads is obvious, but their scheduling suggests they really want Dads to work (they are reairing the pilot twice in good timeslots), so it might be a red herring. I can also see Brooklyn Nine-Nine bombing (sadly). That said, unlike last season, they have an obvious replacement in Raising Hope, plus they can promote something new through the World Series, which allows them to premiere a new show in October, which the other networks seldom do.

CBS will have super-high expectations of We Are Men/The Millers in those timeslots and they won’t want them depressing their partner shows ratings. The Millers also premieres late.

Will WTTF/SSTW bomb that badly that Community provides an improvement? Also, both are premiering late.

If Trophy Wife/Lucky 7/Betrayal bomb, will ABC want to throw something else to instantly bomb in those timeslots? They can sweat it out until New Year. I guess ABC could just bring back the DWTS results show…

    Ugh, no idea.

I voted for We Are Men, but was also strongly considering Lucky 7, Dads, Ironside and Betrayal. As has already been mentioned by others, We Are Men looks awful and it’s on CBS, with its relatively high standards and a number of comedies waiting in the wings. With respect to Dads, my guess is that the Seth McFarlane connection could keep it on the air for a bit.

I picked Agents of Shield. When I am proven right you can all kiss my ass!

  • Justin

    Brooklyn 99

    Followed by We Are Men

  • Oliver

I’ll go with Lucky 7 and a DWTS results show in the 10pm hour.

  • Bob

I have only seen The Goldbergs” and unfortunately will never be able to get my 22 minutes back. That was the WORST show I have ever watched seriously and I have seen some stinkers. Get rid of that filth.

  • KJ Styles

I voted for Dads, it’s an awful show with tough competition (NCIS and SHIELD).

I think all of ABC’s new comedies except Super Fun Night will get the axe as well, and probably all of CBS’s rookie comedies except The Crazy Ones.

To be honest, I think you will see a ton of rookies get eaten this year. The only ones that I’m certain will be renewed are SHIELD and Blacklist. Other rookies will be renewed as well, but those are the only two that look like they’ll be major hits IMO.

@Nene Leakes which I’m sure your not her lmao… I totally agree

  • KJ Styles

@NeNe Leakes- Shield has about as much chance of being cancelled as the Jets do of making the playoffs. In other words, NONE!

  • Oliver

(With that being said, I’m not quite as down on Lucky 7 as some people are, I just think it’s relatively easy to replace, it’s in a nasty timeslot and ABC is barely promoting it)

I see someone didn’t watch Work It.

  • Darryl

I have a feeling that Dads is likely to be the 1st gone.

  • hello

Sleepy Hollow starts first so i bet it will be cancelled first

  • NBC Fan

Dads. It’s premiering earlier than most shows.

  • Alex J

CBS gives their comedies the shortest leash.
We Are Men will be the lowest of the new ones.

  • KJ Styles

@Oliver- (With that being said, I’m not quite as down on Lucky 7 as some people are, I just think it’s relatively easy to replace, it’s in a nasty timeslot and ABC is barely promoting it).

I don’t think Lucky 7 be the first show that gets cancelled, but it will be cancelled. POI is going to destroy it. Not to mention Sons Of Anarchy on FX. It’ll be gone by November sweeps.

  • David Howell

We Are Men. Two and out. Mike and Molly is waiting.

  • senor chang

i’m sad that the show i’m most looking forward too (lucky 7) seems to have the most unlucky odds of survival

that said, i’ll still watch every episode

my other guess is we are men

  • catsrule

I picked We Are Men. Tony Shalhoub was great in Monk and Wings but this looks terrible. Wouldn’t be surprised at Dads either. I really hope it’s not Welcome to the Family, saw the pilot and will be making this a regular. Also want Back in the Game to last, it looks like the best companion show The Middle has had. Lucky 7 sounds interesting, better than the usual shows ABC airs in that slot.
