Which New Fall Broadcast TV Show Will Be Canceled First? (Poll)

The cancellation bear is awake after his summer hibernation and he's hungry.

Rookie broadcast primetime shows will begin premiering this week (although the official start of the season is Sept. 23), so it's  time to throw your hat in the ring and guess which new broadcast primetime show you think will be caught by the cancellation bear and canceled first!

Because comment thread lawyers are everywhere, let's be clear that for the purposes of this poll "canceled" means removed from its initially scheduled timeslot, either off the air entirely or rescheduled to a burn off timeslot, even if the network *claims* the show will return later.

Last season, CBS' Made In Jersey was the first show canceled on October 10.

What's your guess for this season's first to go?

While I've included all new shows in the poll (in randomized order) expected to premiere before Christmas, the ones premiering late are obviously very highly unlikely to be canceled first, but the adventuresome are more than welcome to take a shot.

Like they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often.

I think it’s silly that people are voting for which show they think will be canceled first when none of them have even aired at all yet. That’s really not giving show a chance at all.

Anything with the name Super Fun Night probably won’t be super fun.

We are Men on CBS and the Goldburgs does not sound good.

    We Are Men

I voted Lucky 7 but I didn’t see Super Fun Night…what is that?

Nothing from CW will be FIRST.
Junior Master Chef – will do at least the full season before pulling the plug so that is safe for the year too.

NBC is pushing Blacklist the most – so they will not let that go first – along with Michael J. Fox.

CBS will keep Hostages as long as they can
and ABC will keep Marvels comic book show as long as possible too.

Fox is putting a lot into Dads & Sleepy Hollow –

So I think ABC will be the first to give up something new.

It’s got to be We Are Men. If not, then it’s because CBS shows some patience.

FOX seems much into the ‘edgy’ Dads. Wouldn’t put my money on that. But this time they ordered more shows and don’t have to let a flop stick around like Mob Doctor last season.

Lucky 7 seems to have cancellation written all over it and maybe ABC thinks so too since there’s been so little promotion of it especially when compare to the other new shows.

Who was dumb enough to pick the Blacklist as the 1st to be cancelled? It actually looks good and well cast. No wonder it tested well.

ABC has the least interesting new shows ……..even worse than the CW…ABC will drop off one of their newbies first.

Ironside will go down fast. I definitely see one of the CBS or FOX comedies being yanked after three episodes and being replaced by M&M and RH, respectively.

  • John

Either We are Men or Betrayal. I’m going to go with Betrayal though since We are Men at least has stars in it and has the How I Met Your Mother lead in, which I think will be bigger in its final season. Betrayal has no stars, a weak lead-in, hardly any promotion, zero to no buzz, and a completely uninteresting premise and plot.

I’m in the “We are Men” camp. It definitely feels like the weak link in CBS’s lineup, and with M&M on the bench, CBS won’t wait long to make a swap.
Honestly, I’m surprised Sleepy Hollow isn’t getting more love (or hate, I suppose) in this. It’s easy for me to see FOX axing it quickly and keeping Bones on Monday with Almost Human come November. Certainly would be as easy to dispose of as Dads.
Also, I can see why Sean’s as high as it is (people tend to vote for the shows that look least appealing, not the ones they think aren’t in position to succeed. Also explains why Dads is at the top.) But putting it at nine means that NBC’s going to give it every chance to succeed. I like Welcome to the Family’s chances a lot better.

I think it’s silly that people are voting for which show they think will be canceled first when none of them have even aired at all yet. That’s really not giving show a chance at all.

The first cancellation is almost always because people don’t watch the premiere. People are effectively debating what shows others won’t give a chance.

    All the comedies can go.

I picked Dads because it had the earliest premiere and because it already has a lot of horrible reviews, plus it’s going up against NCIS, DWtS Results Show, and SHIELD, which means it’s already in a killer time slot, plus FOX has Raising Hope on the bench. It’s too bad Dads will probably kill Brooklyn Nine-Nine in the process, because that show looks much more promising.

Having said that, We Are Men looks like a steaming turd pile, and it is on CBS, which happens to have a low tolerance for crappy shows out of the gate. Sean Saves The World may be the only show that looks worse than Dads/We Are Men, but NBC doesn’t really have anything to replace it with right away, and they’re not going to rush Community back on the schedule. My guess is it will bomb out of the box, but it will switch time slots with Michael J. Fox for the remainder of the fall.

I don’t think cw will have any new hits, but they may not have any flops either

Dads or We Are Men. They sound awful and pretty much like every sitcom that gets cancelled.

  • Jack Bauer

Canceled DADS first then WE ARE MEN and then LUCKY 7.

  • Billy Martins

Here is what will be the first causality of the season
    1 super fun nite
    2 the crazy ones
    3 We are men
    4 regin
5 lucky 7 will likely last for about half- season likely 18 episodes
6 Agent of sheid will likely last for about half- season likely 18 episodes
7 all of the newest sitcoms on Thursday nite on NBC possibly gonna to be cancelled too by seAson end.
    8 Dracula
9 OUAT spinoff wonderland will at least stick around til 13 episodes than also possibly cancelled too.
    10 Originals

Super Fun Night will be renewed. A combination of Rebel Wilson’s charm and the post MF-timeslot will earn it a renewal. I like the shock factor of the show personally. I will give it a shot.
