Cable news nets broke into regular programming to air to cover the shooting yesterday at the Navy Yard in Washington DC. More viewers tuned to FNC for the breaking news coverage than any other cable network. FNC beat its competitors (combined) in total viewers and in the Adults 25-54 demographic for all day parts.
Additionally, Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s debut on FOX & Friends delivered a boosted the show’s already strong viewership. Hasselbeck’s debut eclipsed CNN and MSNBC combined audience in total viewers and was up 21% in demo and 10% in total viewers compared to FOX & Friends third-quarter performance.
