Scoreboard FOX ABC CBS NBC UNI CW
Adults 18-49: rating/Share 2.8/8 2.6/7 1.9/5 1.2/3 1.2/3 0.2/1
Adults 18-34: Rating/Share 2.1/7 2.0/6 1.4/4 1.0/3 1.0/3 0.2/1

Last night’s Monday Night Football game (Steelers/Bengals) was simulcast on the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh and the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati. As a result, the ABC and NBC numbers may be inflated  and subject to more than typical adjustments in the finals. Major League Baseball aired on the CW affiliate in Chicago.

FOX was number one in Adults 18-49 while ABC was on top among Total Viewers.

Update: Fox ordered Time Zone adjusted fast nationals (which usually match the final afternoon ratings)

BONES went up to 2.3 rtg in Adults 18-49 (vs. 2.2/7 this morning) with 7.8 Mil Total Viewers (vs. 7.5 Mil this morning)

  • This makes it EVEN with last year’s premiere in Adults 18-49 (2.3/7)

SLEEPY HOLLOW went up to 3.5 rtg in Adults 18-49 (vs. 3.4/9 this morning) with 10.1 Mil Total Viewers (vs. 10.0 Mil this morning)

On FOX, the season premiere of Bones scored a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating down 4 percent from a 2.3 for last season’s premiere on Monday, September 17, 2012 but up 5 percent from a 2.1 for last season’s finale on April 29, 2013. The series premiere of Sleepy Hollow garnered a huge 3.4 adults 18-49 rating up 127 percent from a 1.5 for the premiere of The Mob Doctor on September 17, 2012, and, perhaps more surprisingly up 6 percent from a 3.2 for the premiere of The Following on January 21, 2013 and up 10 percent from a 3.1 for the premiere of Terra Nova on Monday, September 26, 2011. Your predictions were far too pessimistic. It was the highest broadcast drama premiere since the debut of Revolution and FOX’s best Fall drama premiere in six years, since the short-lived K-ville in 2007.

On CBS, the season finale of Under the Dome earned a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating up 33 percent from last week’s 2.1. It should be noted that last week’s episode started half an hour late in most of the country. It was the show’s best Adults 8-49 rating since July 29.

On ABC, the possiblyy football inflated season premiere of Dancing with the Stars scored a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating up 28 percent from a 2.5 for the premiere of last fall’s all-star edition on September 25, 2012 and matching last spring's premiere on March 18, 2013.

On NBC, Million Second Quiz earned a 1.1 down 35 percent from a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating for last week’s premiere. The ]season finale of American Ninja Warrior notched a 1.6 down 6 percent from last week's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. The finale of Siberia garnered a 0.8 up 33 percent from last week's 0.6  adults 18-49 rating.

On The CW, the season finale of Breaking Pointe matched last week's 0.2 adults 18-49 rating.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Best DWTS premiere in years. Quite enjoyable.

  • r0ckmypants

@Petar – Touch was a sneak preview, not a premiere.

@luka – One has nothing to do with the other. Sleepy Hollow is a horror drama with good reviews. Dads is a universally panned sitcom. Just because one did well doesn’t mean the other will. And even if Dads does do well, it’s up against NCIS and S.H.I.E.L.D. next week, so…

Why isn’t anyone talking about DWTS? That’s a HUGE gain from last fall. I don’t watch it, but I guess ABC did something right with the cast with this season.

  • josh

UTD was awful so glad its over
Cannot wait til Final season of HIMYM kicks off next week

  • I Love TV!

What an excelent start for Sleepy Hollow and what a pilot! Saw it online and it was really good! So happy for it

  • Petar

    @Jerry
Well i don’t know that. May be. But touch premiere was 3.9 i am sure in that.

  • JR35

Fantastic numbers for both Sleepy Hollow and Under the Dome. :)

Will wait to see the finals for DWTS.

  • Bjm

Sleepy Hollow was good. Now if they just don’t turn up with long lost family members or somebody’s mother we should be OK.

  • were123

WOW! Great numbers for Sleepy Hollow!
Last season FOX was doing terrible, so this is kind of a glimpse of hope. Should the show retain those ratings, FOX will have both Sleepy Hollow and The Following to keep the network going.

Also good numbers for Under the Dome, who would have thought it would do this well the entire season?

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Sara Bibel

The Bones Total viewers number has been corrected (7.53 million viewers)

  • JONNYSBRO

Abc picked a great cast in dancing plus reducing it one night a week is great for the show. The real test in in the voice next week. Damn awesome numbers for sleepy hollow. See fox focus on your scripted fare. U had great success with the following last year. Forget the x factor see this is what happens when fox focuses on their real scripted shows. Really looking forward to Brooklyn nine nine. Bones sp solid for a nine year show. It’s a lock bones will get a tenth season.

  • Petar

DWTS also premiere big. But with the voice next week will drop a lot in my opinion. SH can make 2BG/Moms life shorter.

  • dantas

Great for Sleepy Hollow! I loved the show last night!
But didn’t Glee premiere to a 3.5 in 2009? How is Sleepy Hollow the biggest drama premiere in six years?

  • Cle

I believe Sleepy Hollow had a very lucky chance and made use of it.. becox premiering high will bring viewers and will be tested.. And on a less competition night with little hype its really good.. I am not a fan or admirer of show but giving chances like this can establish a good audience before the competition starts if the shows quality remains the same.. and it will be seen in next coming weeks not becox of competition but because of the quality.. if someone wants to watch the show he/she will whether there is another show that he/she like or watch.. Its just QUALITY…

  • Shantal

What I’m really surprised at is that Sleepy Hollows’ 18-34 number is 2.6, which using this site’s What Is a TV Rating and Who Is It Dating? 2013-14 Edition article translates to around 1.8 million out of the 4.3 mil 18-49 viewers and 10 mill 2+ viewers.
Broadcast is really older skewing than cable as a whole.

  • James “One” Shade

Awesome! Just like the show. So crazy, but in the best way possible. Really everything Zero Hour should’ve been.

  • Petar

@Really looking forward to Brooklyn nine nine.

I hope this will be best new sitcom. I like it so much.

  • David James

Brilliant start for Sleepy Hollow! I knew people were underestimating it but hopefully it will be able to maintain decent ratings (mid 2′s) and be a hit for Fox as they need it. Dancing With the Stars did surprisingly well so hopefully ABC’s decision to air it on Monday only turns out to be a good one. Nice finish for Under the Dome and glad to see a summer series has done so well. As for The Million Second Quiz, erm well it’s NBC so..

  • Charmed

Sleepy Hollow grew to 3.5 in the second half hour!

  • Dan S

If I’m not mistaken SH is currently a limited run series scheduled until Jan. after that The Following will take over that time period. With these high ratings Fox I’m sure will want to order a back 9 for the full season barring a major drop. I thought I was being too optimistic forecasting 2.8-3.0 but pleasantly surprised I was wrong.

  • Benjamin Elliott

Very glad for Sleepy Hollow. Haven’t gotten to see it yet (Bones, Ninja Warrior, and Siberia got my live nods). I like bonkers shows (watch Siberia’s finale On Demand to see just how crazy it got). Hopefully last night’s ratings for Sleepy foretell a Fall trend.

I do think FOX should be called on the carpet for their new low in embedded commercials. During Bones, they had one character ask another if they’d set the DVR for Sleepy Hollow yet. Really, FOX?
