Adults 18-49: rating/Share 2.8/8 2.6/7 1.9/5 1.2/3 1.2/3 0.2/1
Adults 18-34: Rating/Share 2.1/7 2.0/6 1.4/4 1.0/3 1.0/3 0.2/1

Last night’s Monday Night Football game (Steelers/Bengals) was simulcast on the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh and the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati. As a result, the ABC and NBC numbers may be inflated  and subject to more than typical adjustments in the finals. Major League Baseball aired on the CW affiliate in Chicago.

FOX was number one in Adults 18-49 while ABC was on top among Total Viewers.

Update: Fox ordered Time Zone adjusted fast nationals (which usually match the final afternoon ratings)

BONES went up to 2.3 rtg in Adults 18-49 (vs. 2.2/7 this morning) with 7.8 Mil Total Viewers (vs. 7.5 Mil this morning)

  • This makes it EVEN with last year’s premiere in Adults 18-49 (2.3/7)

SLEEPY HOLLOW went up to 3.5 rtg in Adults 18-49 (vs. 3.4/9 this morning) with 10.1 Mil Total Viewers (vs. 10.0 Mil this morning)

On FOX, the season premiere of Bones scored a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating down 4 percent from a 2.3 for last season’s premiere on Monday, September 17, 2012 but up 5 percent from a 2.1 for last season’s finale on April 29, 2013. The series premiere of Sleepy Hollow garnered a huge 3.4 adults 18-49 rating up 127 percent from a 1.5 for the premiere of The Mob Doctor on September 17, 2012, and, perhaps more surprisingly up 6 percent from a 3.2 for the premiere of The Following on January 21, 2013 and up 10 percent from a 3.1 for the premiere of Terra Nova on Monday, September 26, 2011. Your predictions were far too pessimistic. It was the highest broadcast drama premiere since the debut of Revolution and FOX’s best Fall drama premiere in six years, since the short-lived K-ville in 2007.

On CBS, the season finale of Under the Dome earned a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating up 33 percent from last week’s 2.1. It should be noted that last week’s episode started half an hour late in most of the country. It was the show’s best Adults 8-49 rating since July 29.

On ABC, the possiblyy football inflated season premiere of Dancing with the Stars scored a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating up 28 percent from a 2.5 for the premiere of last fall’s all-star edition on September 25, 2012 and matching last spring's premiere on March 18, 2013.

On NBC, Million Second Quiz earned a 1.1 down 35 percent from a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating for last week’s premiere. The ]season finale of American Ninja Warrior notched a 1.6 down 6 percent from last week's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. The finale of Siberia garnered a 0.8 up 33 percent from last week's 0.6  adults 18-49 rating.

On The CW, the season finale of Breaking Pointe matched last week's 0.2 adults 18-49 rating.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

The surprise is that Sleepy Hollow is actually pretty good. Sure, it had some problems but overall it was a well produced and acted pilot, with good pacing. Of course, it will drop and we’ll have to wait and see how the quality holds up but it cold just be that FOX finally has another hit drama on their hands (and that with little hype created on their part).

  • Sam

Predicted 3.2, got 3.4 not to bad. I’m guessing, if the show keeps up, it could end the season with a 2.9 or something around that.

  • chrisss

    @ Alex

Wasn’t Fox’s plan to keep Sleepy Hollow at 9 and debut Almost Human at 8?

  • Hit Me One More Time

Sleepy Hollow had next to no competition. It will fall very hard when everything else returns.

  • CP

Today I don’t even care about ratings. I’m just glad the TV season has started! :)

  • Hit Me One More Time

(and that with little hype created on their part).

The irony.. (considering the website we’re on and the huge banners promoting it, not to mention all the commercials I’ve seen for it) :-D

  • Petar

@Sleepy Hollow had next to no competition. It will fall very hard when everything else returns.

That is sure thing. BUT if can stay around 2.0 is lock for renewel. The question is how big drop will see in next 2-3 weeks for that type of show.

  • Petar

    @Hit Me One More Time

This is fox. They do really good job promoting sci fi shows.

  • Mickey Ninaj

UTD finale was horrible. Haven’t felt this way since the series finale of Lost.

  • Jayme

    Petar/Hit Me One More Time

I really don’t it will fall very hard my guess is next week it will be 2.5.

  • Raykov

Don’t forget that Revolution debuted 4.1 and fell to a few 1.8-1.9s by the end. Sleepy Hallow may crash bigger. And don’t forget that next monday is the mother of all mondays on CBS!

  • Ram510

I’m surprised people didn’t think Sleepy Hallow would open over a 3.0, I thought that was obvious back in May. I just don’t believe it’ll be able to sustain those kind of number and will probably go the way of Alcatraz and Terra Nova.

It’s time to put DWTS out of its misery.

  • Flame

@Jayme: You would consider shedding a full ratings point “not a hard fall”?

  • Rebecca

I enjoyed Sleepy Hollow – it seemed to get better as it went on. My hubby thought it was dumb, but I’ll keep watching at least for a while. Glad it did well last night. For tonight, I will watch [or stream later] Whose Line, New Girl, B99 and Dads…although I expect Dads to not be very good (I’ll still try it). Already streamed Mindy’s season premiere and look forward to more of her second season – over the summer I watched season one again and got my sis hooked on the show. Neither of us have Nielsen boxes, but we’re fans. On future Tuesdays I’ll also have The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife. Another packed night of entertainment on broadcast channels, just like in previous seasons on my TV. On future Mondays, I’ll just have HIMYM, Mom, Castle and Sleepy Hollow. Wed and Thurs will be packed, too. Not complaining…I’m ready for the new season!

  • rgxx

Sleep Hollow steals Under The Dome’s Thunder…

  • rob60990

“I really don’t it will fall very hard my guess is next week it will be 2.5.”

You don’t consider dropping from a 3.5 to a 2.5 falling very hard?

  • r0ckmypants

@Flame – Even if DWTS adjusts down huge, 0.4 or 0.5, that’s a buck in its recent trend toward decline. And football was only on in one market.

  • Wright

Good for Bones. Sleepy Hollow was GREAT. UTD was good like always – I will definately be back to watch it next year.

  • rgxx

I liked UTD episode – but the producers over-hyped the finale – it WASN’T Epic! it was just another season finale

  • TVWatcher

Could someone explain to me where they all heard that Sleepy Hollow was a limited series? I haven’t heard anything and I didn’t find anything on the internet, but a few people mentioned it on here.

    Help? Hahah thanks
