Adults 18-34: Rating/Share 2.1/7 2.0/6 1.4/4 1.0/3 1.0/3 0.2/1

Last night’s Monday Night Football game (Steelers/Bengals) was simulcast on the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh and the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati. As a result, the ABC and NBC numbers may be inflated  and subject to more than typical adjustments in the finals. Major League Baseball aired on the CW affiliate in Chicago.

FOX was number one in Adults 18-49 while ABC was on top among Total Viewers.

Update: Fox ordered Time Zone adjusted fast nationals (which usually match the final afternoon ratings)

BONES went up to 2.3 rtg in Adults 18-49 (vs. 2.2/7 this morning) with 7.8 Mil Total Viewers (vs. 7.5 Mil this morning)

  • This makes it EVEN with last year’s premiere in Adults 18-49 (2.3/7)

SLEEPY HOLLOW went up to 3.5 rtg in Adults 18-49 (vs. 3.4/9 this morning) with 10.1 Mil Total Viewers (vs. 10.0 Mil this morning)

On FOX, the season premiere of Bones scored a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating down 4 percent from a 2.3 for last season’s premiere on Monday, September 17, 2012 but up 5 percent from a 2.1 for last season’s finale on April 29, 2013. The series premiere of Sleepy Hollow garnered a huge 3.4 adults 18-49 rating up 127 percent from a 1.5 for the premiere of The Mob Doctor on September 17, 2012, and, perhaps more surprisingly up 6 percent from a 3.2 for the premiere of The Following on January 21, 2013 and up 10 percent from a 3.1 for the premiere of Terra Nova on Monday, September 26, 2011. Your predictions were far too pessimistic. It was the highest broadcast drama premiere since the debut of Revolution and FOX’s best Fall drama premiere in six years, since the short-lived K-ville in 2007.

On CBS, the season finale of Under the Dome earned a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating up 33 percent from last week’s 2.1. It should be noted that last week’s episode started half an hour late in most of the country. It was the show’s best Adults 8-49 rating since July 29.

On ABC, the possiblyy football inflated season premiere of Dancing with the Stars scored a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating up 28 percent from a 2.5 for the premiere of last fall’s all-star edition on September 25, 2012 and matching last spring's premiere on March 18, 2013.

On NBC, Million Second Quiz earned a 1.1 down 35 percent from a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating for last week’s premiere. The ]season finale of American Ninja Warrior notched a 1.6 down 6 percent from last week's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. The finale of Siberia garnered a 0.8 up 33 percent from last week's 0.6  adults 18-49 rating.

On The CW, the season finale of Breaking Pointe matched last week's 0.2 adults 18-49 rating.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Sleepy Hollow was really good! Hopefully people will watch it next week.

Under The Dome finale was really boring and I felt that it was predictable on who was the Monarch.

  • r0ckmypants

@TVWatcher – It’s just a logical assumption because Fox announced that The Following will acquire Sleepy Hollow’s timeslot at midseason.

  • tvwatcher

I wasn’t expecting to, but I had lots of fun with Sleepy Hollow. I like the two leads. Will keep watching for now.

    Bones was good too.

  • rob60990

So even Bones 9th season premiere beat X Factor. Poor Simon.

  • Aron

How was the first day of syndication for Community?

  • Garrett S.

Enjoyed Sleepy Hollow, hopefully it doesn’t fall too hard next week and in the weeks to come.

  • William

I really enjoyed Sleepy Hollow & look forward to next weeks show. Its about time, we had something different & spooky on tv.

  • Robbie Bishop

“Sleepy Hollow” was really good. I hadn’t even heard of it before last night, but I saw a promo during “Bones” and decided to check it out. Glad I did.
Wasn’t expecting these ratings for it. Hopefully, it keeps it up.

  • TVDude

Well, I guess Sleep Hollow won’t be the first show canceled.  I do have a feeling it won’t have as a great of a number by the end of the season though.  Part of its boost could be the time of year as Sleep Hollow is more of a Halloween story.

Decent for Bones as well, if it get adjusted up in the finals, it’ll tie last year’s premiere.  Given the downward trend among broadcast networks over the years, a tie is really good news.  Even down a tenth isn’t bad news though.  If it holds, I’m going to be surprised if they send this to Friday.

  • Mike K

I hope it can maintain a 2.8 or higher the next few weeks. Well, I actually hope it grows, but we all know that doesn’t happen with pilot shows. FOX was smart to air it a week before everything else starts. Lets see how it does with competition. I loved it, hope it succeeds.

  • Z

Th real tests is how/if much drops in upcoming weeks with competitiion, and I thought th show was pretty good.

  • Aquitar

Sleepy Hollow was great, wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did! Definitely deserved those ratings.

  • Simon

‘SLEEPY HOLLOW went up to 3.5 rtg in Adults 18-49 (vs. 3.4/9 this morning) with 10.1 Mil Total Viewers (vs. 10.0 Mil this morning)’

Does this mean we can expect it to adjust up in the finals later?

  • Alan

Great night for Sleepy Hollow, the pilot was great. I hope it keeps those numbers! Also, great numbers for UTD!

  • Jayme

    Rob

Not when people said it would start at under 2.

  • gerry

wow, fox must be elated. good numbers sleepy hollow!

  • r0ckmypants

@Simon – No… “Fox ordered Time Zone adjusted fast nationals (which usually match the final afternoon ratings).” In all likelihood, these are the final numbers for Fox.

  • Patrick Ausgewahlt

I will probably end up watching Sleepy Hallow live each week. I enjoy Bones, but it is always on at the same time as HIMYM, so I rarely watch it live. Sleepy Hallow will drop next week for sure, but it still had Dancing with the Stars Premier and American Ninja Warrior finale as competition. Even the CBS repeats were way higher than their usual 1-1.2 range. I say it would stay as high as a 3.0 and fall as low as a 2.4, with my guess being 2.8 next week

  • Pavelsauce

I loved Sleepy Hollow. :) It may have seemed goofy at times (Headless Horseman with a machine gun, anyone?), but it was loads of fun. I’m glad it did so well, and I hope it continues to do so. I’m definitely tuning in next week.

    In my Opinion:
    Dads – 6 milion and 2.9
    Brooklyn 99 – 7 milion and 3.3
    New Girl – 6 milion and 3.0
The Mindy Project – 4.5 milion and 2.4
