  • In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.9/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/4.
  • From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

I hope Dads drops hard next week. What an atrocious show that is, unfunny in every sense of the word. I enjoyed B99 but it’s gonna suffer a drop come next week with SHIELD and NCIS.

Good for New Girl. Mindy Project did better than expected considering the numbers it was pulling in Spring, but still gonna fall next week.

  • r0ckmypants

After all that promotion and without full competition, Mindy still couldn’t crack a 2.0?

  • Samuel

I wish people would try Mindy Project, it’s by far the best comedy on Fox.

  • rob60990

“Mindy Project’s been available online for a week now – I watched it on Hulu the day the preview was released.”

If only I knew how to use the eye roll emotion.

  • Christian

what’s up with the rob60990 doppelgangers? lol

  • erwanfromfrance

We could also have noticed that Dads skews very much older than New Girl ! 2.1 vs 2.9 for same viewership

  • RyanCanada

Mindy’s demo is pretty good for the ammount of ratings it has,

  • Alex

Not a great start for the Fox comedy block but certainly not as bad as it could have been. Dads not quite DOA but I can’t imagine its going to do anything but fall in the weeks to come. Mindy predictably incredibly underwhelming and disappointing in its return. New Girl not a disaster but its failure to crack a 3 against very weak competition isn’t a great sign and I suppose that’s an OK sample for Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It seems to me though that Fox might be best served by getting Brooklyn Nine-Nine out of the way of NCIS and SHIELD as soon as they can (a straight swap with the inexplicably renewed Mindy) and hoping they can salvage a decentish hour from this latest comedy block experiment.

Also Iron Man 2 underwhelming for ABC and America’s Got Talent is determined to crawl rather than fly over the finish line this season.

  • Samunto

If ‘Mindy’ is already this low, will it even manage a 1.1 in spring? I doubt it’ll survive this season though FOX seems to love.

Dads skewed older in comparison to the other comedies.

  • Petar

Good start for B99! Dads and Mindy are DEAD!

  • Zach

The demos on Fox are all pretty good (Wish Mindy would’ve gone one point higher. Fingers crossed for an adjustment) but what I’m really shocked at is the viewership numbers. I would’ve thought that they all would’ve skewed a lot younger because viewership is high compared to what this block was doing last year. New Girl averaged just over 4 million if I remember right and about a 2.2 or so in demo but now it’s close to 6 million and not even breaking a 3. I’m also surprised by how old Dads skewed. This may sound naive but I thought Fox comedies usually got high demos with low viewership so the viewership seems high for how low the demos are. Still a great start for everyone except Mindy. Really didn’t hold on to much of her lead in. Though that is the second most watched episode of the show and very much up in viewership from the finale which got just over 2.5 million viewers.

  • LarryH

I liked Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I hope it gets good word of mouth and doesn’t drop too much next week with a full slate of regular competition.

  • rob60990

X Factor is a great show

America’s got talent did quite well. Tonight is the big finale for the show. Will be interesting how it does with all the competition tonight. Brooklyn nine nine is a keeper love seeing Melissa fumero loved her on oltl.

  • Mon

It’s kind of hilarious that New Girl beat AGT.

  • rob60990

im a fat 12 year old who skips school to troll on tv ratings

  • spin

So upset for The Mindy Project. It’s seriously the best show on FOX. Wish more people would give it a chance. Hopefully it can at least beat out Dads by the end of the season. That show was horrific.

  • TVMike

Good result for Capture with a series high. Been watching this show with interest, a solid but somewhat shakey start as the show and production found its feet but it’s maintained a relatively stable 0.4 with variations to 0.3 and now up to 0.5. Production wise it’s gotten a lot better throughout the series and I bet an S2 would look even better as the format is defined. It’s suffered from a lack of marketing but appears to be building a strong core audience. It will be renewed.

  • Alex

If ‘Mindy’ is already this low, will it even manage a 1.1 in spring?

You’re assuming it’ll still be on the air in the Spring. Fox have more than enough comedy on the bench to just pull it and burn whatever episodes are left over the summer or on Friday night.
