In fact, this week stood as the series 4th-most-watched week on record in the key women demos and its 5th-most-watched week in Total Viewers.

  • Monday’s season 3 launch, featuring co-host Daphne Oz’s exciting baby news announcement, qualified as the show’s most-watched telecast in close to 8 months in Total Viewers (2.85 million), while Tuesday’s telecast, celebrating National TV Dinner Day with Chef Batali and Chef Symon squaring off in a TV dinner showdown, was its most-watched telecast in nearly 20 months in Women 18-49 (584,000/0.9 rating) – since 1/28/13 and 2/2/12, respectively.

  • Mike

    Good week for ABC.

  • Sean

GO GH!!!! Maura West and the rest of this AMAZING Cast has been KILLING it!

  • TimsDale4ever

Wow, 3 million for a GH episode? Congratulations big time!

  • Bo

    This just made my day!

  • Karen C

Good for GH! But they really had to stretch to spin The View’s numbers. Highest viewers in 5 weeks? The last 5 weeks were repeats so you would hope that the new season would rate higher than repeats. The View has been so dull this season. The show is on a downward spiral.

  • moshane58

Good news for GH.Hope it keeps going up

  • Jeff

Good job GH. Love good news about the soaps.

  • Jenn

Good for General Hospital! So glad to see the show doing so well.

  • AppleStinx

‘Fox & Friends’ averaged a lofty 1,410K on Tuesday. Can we draw an early conclusion that Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s jump from ‘The View’ to ‘Fox & Friends’ was beneficial to both shows? Stay tuned.

  • chuckiechk

the chew has always been good, and now 3 seasons in the hosts are getting along even better. the food is easy for EVERYONE and not like most cooking shows when you think, how the hell can I make this.

  • Melanie P.

Go GH!!:) I personally really like Carly and Franco together. I think they have amazing chemistry, (like when he was Todd, lol)! I too am liking Nicholas and Britt and would love to see a Sonny and Ava pairing. That would be super cool!

  • Jason Reese

ABC executives have to be embarrassed. Soaps are dying out they said, wrong. GH is the best soap opera on USA television prime or daytime. Congratulations GH, i am privileged to be a fan.

  • Shawn

Go Jason! I agree 100%. GH is kicking butt!!

  • Heather

Jason Reese, why should ABC executives be “embarrassed”? They’ve just released a report about how they are happy with the ratings of The View, The Chew and General Hospital. So logically, my sense would tell me that they are more happy with what they have now than they were with AMC and OLTL in the lineup.

  • James

Don’t care at all for The View and Chew, but good for GH in demos and viewers.

  • Mike

Heather, Not counting the fact that they have to be making more money. They got rid of 1 hour they were paying for. They replaced AMC with a show that is much cheaper to produce. And the ratings are very close or even higher sometimes than what AMC was getting.

They have cut GH’s budget more according to Frank Valentini.

The View has also gotten rid of one of the originals already plus Elizabeth is gone. So they have cut costs there.

  • James

Hey Mike, according to rumors more cutting costs will happen. Some vets are leaving by Feb 2014. While some go down to recurring. However, more people are suppose to come back, so it seems like they are letting some vets go to bring back some others. The cast is quite big as it is sooooo…as long as the writing is good and ratings are there, whatever.

I notices the chew and Gh are a good combo. The weak link in all of this is Katie which stinks. Gh is not going anywhere with them getting highest ratings in 5 years.

  • Paul DeCroix

I can’t imagine anyone watching General Hospital. The acting is embarrassingly bad! The other shows stink also. Mostly bored housewives who stay at home all day watch these shows. Sad.

  • tj

Paul, why try to rouse everybody up? Nothing good to say then stay away. All opinions are welcomed and you are entitled, but that statement was just pulled from thin air. Show me a chart where soap watchers are mostly unemployed, bored housewives and I’ll apologize.
