“CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR” HIGHLIGHTS MOVIES AND SPORTS WITH “STARS ON SPORTS” ON SATURDAY, SEPT. 21

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR highlights movies and sports with the latest episode of STARS ON SPORTS on Saturday, Sept. 21 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET).  CBS Sports’ Ian Eagle hosts the one-hour special as he sits down with a some of Hollywood’s biggest names to discuss their latest projects and sports.  Director Ron Howard fills us in on his latest movie, Rush, the true story of Formula One drivers Niki Lauda and James Hunt, and their personal battle that fueled each other and racing lore. Howard also tells us about his love of baseball and how he sank the winning basketball shot in a high school championship game despite the opposing school’s band playing the theme from the Andy Griffith Show. Tony Danza sits down to talk about his love for boxing from the promotion set of his latest movie Don Jon.  And Denzel Washington describes how he would have covered Ray Allen in Game 6 of last year’s NBA Finals, while Mark Wahlberg recalls being in the locker room of one of the New England Patriot’s biggest game winning speeches. The two also talk about their latest movie, 2Guns.  Produced in conjunction with Turner Sports, CBS Sports’ Jason Ross serves as coordinating producer and Charlie Bloom is producer.
