Tonight, the second season of ABC comedy The Neighbors premieres in a new Friday night timeslot. Last year, the veryu first episode of the series, which aired in the cushy post-Modern Family timeslot, earned a 3.2 adults 18-49 rating. The next week, when it moved to Wednesday at 8:30PM, it fell to a 2.0. Its season finale on March 27 garnered a 1.5. Will pairing it with Last Man Standing, which also returns tonight, bode well for its continued survival?  The thresholds for success on Friday are lower than Wednesday.  Tonight,The Neighbors faces no original broadcast competition.  So how do you think it will do? Make your predictions!

Will likely prove ABC dumb to cancel Malibu Country

I think maybe 1.4. Its relative to LMS so if LMS gets a 2.1, TN will get a 1.8. If LMS gets 1.5, TN will get a 1.1 or 1.3. The retention won’t be great but the show will last the whole season.

I bet after looking at all last seasons comedies no one would have ever guessed that the only 2 returning would be The Neighbors and The Mindy Project.

This is show is very underrated and very funny. 1.6

I love this quirky show and I really hope it can succeed this season. I do think it now has a very small but loyal fanbase and that is why it has survived this long. I hope it will premiere to at least a 1.7.

    Probably 1.5.

I don’t get from where is all this hatred coming from !? The show is funny, kind of quirky, it should be if not great, at least fine.

  • starship

It’s a hilarious show and did pretty well in repeats, I can see it staying around 1.6-1.8 the first couple of weeks at least.

The Neighbors finale got a 1.5 and it was on Wednesday after The Middle. You should realize it won’t get more than a 1.6 on Friday. I think it’ll be around 1.4-1.5 all season.

  • Oliver

    1.9

  • PurpleDrazi

Well there is no way it will get anywhere close to what it got for it’s very first episode but if it at least equals what it was making in March last year I will be happy.

It’s a sweet, underrated show and I hope it succeeds.

  • CraveRecords

I tuned out after the first episode, but tuned back in about halfway through the season. I actually enjoyed the show. I think it will be relative to LMS, always a .1 or .2 behind it. Even Reba fans have to admit Malibu Country was AWFUL.

  • queeneeuq

    Too low I bet 1.9

  • Carmen

I think it will do better on Friday’s this season than many anticipate.

    I predict a 1.6 – 1.7 and will be dependent a bit upon LMS.

The bigger question is how it will hold up. . .or even gain. . .during the season. I think it will hold and slowly climb to about a 1.9 (maybe even) 2.0 by end of the season. But if it can hold a 1.6 or so on Fridays it will get a 3rd season. If it doesn’t (maintain a 1.5 or so, it will be gone after this season.
