NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Uhm ok. So Malibu was helping LMS last season? I thought it’s the other way around.

  • chris

Dang this tablet. I meant both shows were GREAT last night

  • Mon

@Mon & @JFF – Malibu Country would have gotten a MUCH higher rating because a bunch of the Bravo fans would have tuned in to see what the heck this Malibu Country show is that was mentiioned on every single episode of the Real Housewives of Orange County this season. Seriously, Malibu Country got millions of dollars worth of press from RHOC and all for a show that had already been cancelled. It would have easily beaten LMS. What a waste.

  • M

Whoever thinks that MC would’ve done better than TN is high… MC was pretty bad at least TN is funny… I know what it’s like to get your favorite show cancelled I’ve been a victim multiple times (Smash, BOP, Secret Circle, Hellcats, Gilmore Girls… Etc) but you just have to move on…. The season just started give shows a chance… I predict ratings will be higher next week with fall premiers on everyday…. Especially when most of the ABC new comedies are gonna bomb people will watch LMS and TN

  • chris

I kind of blame ABC for the lack of cohesion on their lineup. The first hour is definitely TGIF esque to me but the numbers prove that some people are watching LMS and leaving, some are watching Neighbors and leaving and in my case they’re watching both and leaving. That type of viewing habit is anything but TGIF esque, but then again ABC hasn’t officially deemed it TGIF. I just wish it had the same cohesion and feel that the Wednesday comedies have.

  • Lord Seth

Even though it won the night, I’m still a little surprised Shark Tank didn’t do a little better, as it was doing so well in reruns from what I remember.

  • MJ

OK…so I was a fan of MC….I did move on…but to think it couldnt beat a 1.2 in its season premiere…you are the one that is high……I dont think any of its episodes last year went below a 1.2 LOL so cancelling MC was a HUGE mistake!!!!!

  • João Paulo

Disappointing numbers for The Neighbors, I hope this numbers rise in the final adjustment.

  • Frank

@M whoever thinks that the quality of a show has much to do with its ratings is REALLY high.

What abc needs is a fun harmless multi cam after last man standing. I never cared for neighbors. Shark tank did great Friday numbers as it will adjust up. Shark tank is what I call a Friday night delight.

  • Brad

MC probably would have got the same 1.2 (or less) last night.

  • HalCapone

Agree with some of the other rational comments that ratings were down across all nets. Interesting that ABC dominated all time slots, though an not just by a tenth of a point, either. Isn’t it all about winning one’s timeslot?

  • Ashley

Sleepy Hollow did pretty good for a repeat. It got a lot of buzz so I think some people like myself wanted to see what it was about. And it was fantastic. I’m hooked now.

  • Nothing But Cancellation

    The Neighbors DOA

  • MJ

    @ CHRIS

You are right, MC did struggle with comedy and ratings…..but it NEVER dipped below a 1.2….and especially on premiere night, or a night when every other channel was A RE-RUN

  • Dan

I was pretty much on the dot with the 1.2 for Neighbors and 1.5 for LMS, still LMS will get a fourth season to reach syndication.

  • RJ

I had no idea any of these shows were premiering last night. Reading this article is the first I’ve heard of it. I can’t be the only one. Stupid ABC. It wouldn’t shock me to see all their shows go up next week, which is when most shows are premiering.

  • Mike

The 1.7 for Shark Tank is shocking to me. Reruns in an earlier less desirable time slot last week were getting 1.2’s.

  • Ram510

I’m sure Last Man Standing and Shark Tank will rise over the next few weeks
