Who says that the Cancellation Bear always brings bad news? He's starting off the 2013-14 season with only good news!

Person Of Interest and 2 Broke Girls are both certain to be renewed at the end of the 2013-14 season.

They will each begin their third seasons in 2013-14. At the end of this season, each will be within one more full season of episodes (give or take a couple) of the 88 episodes which currently seems to be the minimum for extra profitable stripped syndication. While neither show is produced by CBS (both by Warner Brothers), that should't prevent their automatic renewals.

In other certainty news, it has already been announced that How I Met Your Mother's current season will be its final one.

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

You people are all nuts. The Millers has not even premiered yet. The Good Wife is the best drama on tv

  • Cam

POI is one of the better shows on TV.

  • Dan

I bet Unforgettable will be renewed for Season 3.

I agree on THE MENTALIST — with Rigsby and Van Pelt leaving and the show r unning around in circles, with Baker’s shtick getting very old, and with the endless boring Red John hunt (by now I wouldn’t care if he turned out to be Vladimir Putin, Ted Cruz, or Tony LaRussa) a show of watched from the first should wrap itself up.

HOSTAGES should be released — I mean the executives’ family that had to be captured to get this on the air.

My third choice is neither THE GOOD WIFE — which I love — BLUE BLOODS — which I ignore — or H50 — which I would have canceled half way through the first episode. But CRIMINAL MINDS — again, I’ve seen every episode — has been getting very stale, the formula is too rigid, which has always been a problem (the person kidnapped at 9:27 – 9:30 is the person who will always be the rescued one, there’s always the ‘finish each other’s sentences conference’ between 9:30-9:35. And we are still stuck with the Sela Ward wannabee with the Doctorate in Inanity. And the opening half of the two-parter is, so far, stacking up to be the “Spock’s Brain” of the show. And they are reaching the limit of serial killers, becoming either repetitious or to strong for tv. I’ll miss most of you guys, but you have become the obvious third choice.

(Still not bad for a show TV GUIDE swore wouldn’t make it past the first 13 because it was too strong for tv back then.)

I can’t even believe that there is an actual discussion around the idea of it being the final season of TBBT… No comments whatsoever

2 broke girls need better assisting characters… We have the 2 stars of the show and then comes Sophie. after that no assisting characters worth mentioning at all. Shows cant focus just on 2 people for ever. Unless the show is called two and a half men.

Where did these Elementary haters come from!? Person of Interest fanboys still made their show didn’t get the post super bowl slot?

Sure a 2.1 isn’t great, but it’s better than the 2.0 CSI got.

But yet these same exact people try to make it seem like the 2.3 Person of Interest got is the equivalent of the ratings that Big Bang Theory or Modern Family get. Right….
