Hey…. 8 pluses from last year!!!!!!!!!!

  • Derrick

Very happy for Y&R but what’s going on with B&B and DAYS!?

  • Mitchell

Not at all surpiised at BOLD..the Liam & Hope story is boring..and hear is the proof!!
GH,good going..lets hope it continues. The Fall storylines are kicking in now. So lets hope RC has good stories coming down the pipe!

Y&R is good, to bad the head writer Josh is out. But Jean Passante who wrote As The World Turns till it’s conclusion was fantastic,so lets hope she hass good ideas for Y&R!!

  • PatF

All shows are up from last year in both demos…that’s the good news.

I’m not too sure Mitchell about Jean becoming HW at YR. You could also surmise that her writing caused ATWT to be cancelled. And she knows nothing about the show, similar to the other two HWs, even if they wrote under Josh for less than a year. I’m less excited about this than most I believe. There is now NO ONE in charge there who has a history of the show.

    We’ll see.

Glad GH is up since its been a battle to keep it on.So is this live viewing only?If so then drop in some could be they are still watching just DVR.

  • Mike

Moshane — These are the same as every week Live viewing plus 1 day of DVR viewing. The 3 and 7 day DVR viewings are included in the season to date numbers which will change come next week as a new season is beginning. The advertisers want to see these numbers because they pay more to advertise the quicker fans watch the show.

    *******

After the press release from ABC this week I was expecting to see bigger numbers for GH. ABC has no rhyme or reason as to when they put our press releases and when they don’t.

Sorry to see B&B down. Still enjoying it the most between Y&R and B&B. I am as close as I have ever been to not watching Y&R anymore. I am fast forwarding through or just losing interest in more of it than I ever have before.

Oh just saw that another affiliate has moved Days of Our Lives. Chicago moved it up to 11 a.m. in the morning from 1 p.m.

I have not watched Days in years but I would feel bad for its fans if they lost the show. But all these sudden time changes and drops scares me for the show.

  • Rob R

Chicago used to air DAYS at 11 am Central for many years. It is probably just returning it to the time slot that worked in the past for it.

  • Marissa

The less Franco the better for GH.

Is there a firm date for Kimberly McCullough’s return to GH?

  • PatF

If the affiliates are moving the show, it’s to try to bump up viewers or put a more desired show into a more desired slot.

I don’t think that bodes well for Days in the long run.

Does it now run up against YR in that market? If so, that’s more bad news.

Isn’t it wonderful and yet scary how different we all feel about things? I was a huge fan of ATWT for 20 years and even though I tried to watch occasionally during their last 10 years, it just wasn’t ATWT, and some or a lot of that was with Jean. It was just too many new characters with a lot of them being boring teenagers, and thus the show was a totally different show that just happened to have the same title. Sort of like where Y&R has been for the past year. 4 characters have basically been given the show — Adam, Avery, Chelsea, and Dylan. They’re basically new (even Adam is new when you consider the show’s over 40 years old and he’s been on for about 4 to 5 years only; Avery, Chelsea, and Dylan are completely new. It just continues to baffle me how much screen exposure these 4 CONSTANTLY get, which means the characters who have a strong tie to the history of this show are constantly in the backseat. Jill was going to fly to Switzerland concerning something with our beloved Katherine, but alas we haven’t seen anymore of this for about 3 episodes now because of you know who! I’m looking forward to the new writers but I fear there will be even more of this trend — and I’m not even sure that’s possible.

  • Mike

Yes Pat they will be going against one another.

  • PatF

    Tim…

Of the four you listed…Adam pretty much has always been central to the show since he was aged, and he’s actually a child of a core family. Avery was brought on slowly under MAB and she’s Phyllis’ sister. Only JG really started featuring her when Phelps took over. MAB paired Chelsea and Adam before Phelps, so again all three of those were already established.

Dylan’s screen exposure IS very unusual, but we know why that is.

I miss the old vets too. I’m sure a lot of it is the budget issue, but we also know SB didn’t come cheap.

  • Jeff

Good for the shows for all being up in demos and viewers year to year. Interesting the headline has it seem like B&B is the big loser of the week, but it’s Days that lost most viewers and GH that lost the most in the demo week over week. I guess maybe because B&B was the only soap to lose in both sets of numbers???

Anyway, up year to year is what matters most, and that’s great for the 4 shows.

  • Connie

I do not like Bold and Beautiful putting Brooke with her sister’s husband, Bill. It’s hard for me to watch so I often change the channel when they are on. I hope the writers come to their senses on this soon.

  • Melanie P.

@Marissa, I love Franco and love the chemistry between him and Carly. Not sure when Robin’s return date is exactly but it should be interesting and Robert is coming back as well. GH is rockin’!!

  • robert sprague

gh was good yesterday ,not so much today. lulu and dante not a fan can do with out them. love chad duell performance yesterday emmy acting there. cant stand morgans crying. gh wont stay up in the ratings for long with out the vets. where is luke and laura lucy Felicia scotty mac.hoping Robert comes back with robin .more heather and holly pls . only time franco is worth watching is with heather. don’t like the new guy playing Sabrina old boyfriend. gh needs to get rid of its dead wait ie. Sabrina Patrick felix brad lulu dante franco all a waste of money could be used on better actors . Jackie zeman as bobbi and lucas julians son sam brother.

  • tj

Robert I actually agree with the exception to Patrick. He’s one of the few cast members that has no connection to Sonny or the mob stuff. He’s one of the most realistic characters and should stay. I enjoy Roger H. not so much Franco.

  • moshane58

I hope these NBC stations are not trying to get rid of Days.May not watch it but do know a lot of people who do.These networks are no giving much promotion on soaps and that hurts.Watch GH and all it is The Chew and Katie ads.Wonder if they run GH ads on their shows.Anyone know?Hope Days fans rally for their soap. Its hard when they’re gone.

  • Lynn

Wrong headline: DAYS lost more in households than B&B, and GH lost more in 18-47. Could we PLEASE get the headlines to more accurately reflect the true rating’s picture? B&B never gets the love that DAYS and GH does, but it’s obviously doing a lot right.
