“Millionaire” is Up from its Week-Earlier Season Premiere by 5% in Total Viewers


“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”

Based on National ratings for the week of September 9, 2013, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” with new host Cedric the Entertainer, grew across the board from the same week last year (w/o 9/10/12):  Households (+5% - 2.1 rating vs. 2.0 rating), Total Viewers (+11% - 2.893 million vs. 2.615 million), Adults 25-54 (+33% - 0.8 rating vs. 0.6 rating) and Women 25-54 (+13% - 0.9 rating vs. 0.8 rating).


  • “Millionaire” retained 100% of its week-earlier premiere week delivery (w/o 9/2/13) in Households (2.1 rating) and gained 5% in Total Viewers (2.893 million vs. 2.766 million).

    I do not think that Cedric has the stuff to be a game show host. He has no appeal whatsoever…and, he is certainly no Steve Harvey. I have stopped watching “The Millionaire” since Cedric’s appearance…with all due respect to you, Cedric, you have neither charm nor savior faire. I cannot even understand your muffled, resonantly deep voice….I’m just saying!

    I liked Cedric on the Steve Harvey show and think he’s funny in some things, but this is a game show, you don’t need a stand up comic to host it. He takes away from the show. They would be better off getting an unknown. The contestants don’t really need to be cute, the show needs to be a bit more serious and move things along. Game shows are always better when they are fast paced and the audience can play along. Sorry Cedric
