“FACE THE NATION” POSTS ITS FIRST TELEVISION YEAR WIN IN VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS SINCE THE ADVENT OF PEOPLE METERS (1987)
FOR THE 2012-2013 TELEVISION YEAR, “FACE THE NATION” IS UP +7% IN VIEWERS AND +5% IN HOUSEHOLDS COMPARED TO LAST YEAR
For the 2012-2013 television year, CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER posted its best television year delivery in viewers since 1992-1993 and in households since 2005-2006, according to Nielsen most current ratings. FACE THE NATION also posted its first television year win in viewers and households among the Sunday morning public affairs programs since the advent of people meters (1987).
For the 2012-2013 television year, FACE THE NATION is up +7% in viewers (3.05m from 2.85m), +5% in households (2.2/06 from 2.1/06) and even in adults 25-54 (0.7/03) compared to last year.
On Sept. 22, FACE THE NATION posted 2.98m viewers, 0.6/03 in adults 25-54 and 2.0/05 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION was first in viewers and households (tied with both NBC and ABC) among Sunday morning public affairs programs. FACE THE NATION also posted its largest audience since July 14, 2013.
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Rep. Matt Salmon (R-AZ) and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. Schieffer also hosted a political panel with Nancy Gibbs, managing editor of Time magazine, Bobby Ghosh, international editor of Time magazine, David Sanger, chief Washington correspondent of The New York Times, and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson.
FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer.
