Unforgettable Season 2

Updated: Here is CBS's press release.

CBS RENEWS "Unforgettable" FOR BROADCAST IN SUMMER 2014

CBS has given Unforgettable a 13-episode third season renewal for broadcast in summer 2014.

This past summer, Unforgettable averaged 8.23 million viewers, 1.4/04 in adults 18-49 and 2.0/05 in adults 25-54, more than double the year-ago Sunday (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) time period in all these measures. It ranked as Sunday's top scripted program in viewers.

Unforgettable stars Poppy Montgomery as a police detective with a rare condition that allows her to remember and readily access the details of every moment in her life, and Dylan Walsh as her ex-boyfriend and partner.  It also stars Jane Curtain, Dallas Roberts, James Hiroyuki and Tawny Cypress.  The series is produced by Sony Television Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.   Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Ed Redlich and John Bellucci are executive producers.

Once canceled by CBS, Unforgettable has now been renewed for a third 13 episode season to air during the summer of 2014. By my count, there are still 6 episodes remaining from the 13 episode summer 2013 order to be aired. Not clear at this time when they will air, or whether they might be part of the summer 2014 season.

A CBS/Sony co-production, it joins Under The Dome as the second CBS 2013 summer scripted series to be renewed.

This is another shock after Mistresses, seems there are really zero standards in the Summer…

  • Pavelsauce

Quite a surprise for me. Maybe they just need some summer filler.

  • Bradley

Could they possibly be saving the remaining 6 episodes for when a drama fails in the spring? Then they could just start Unforgettable and see it into the summer …

  • neJANIS

Okay… Maybe there is chance for Siberia after all, because it seems ratings are not that important in summer.

  • Martin

    Really??

  • Jane Elliot

…maybe they’re planning to swap out Hostages? (Not that that makes sense, but it’s after midnight here and I have no better explanation.)

  • Jon

This is great news. This show was so good this year. The cast changes plus the new work venue and change of focus of the show really in my mind made the difference. I just wish they would have done some of these changed earlier.

  • Dan S

1st Mistresses now Unforgettable both getting a summer renewal. If these aired any other time of year no way would they have made the cut. Any chance of reviving Vegas or Harry’s Law as a summer series ?

  • Mike

Is any chance of NBC’s being renewed even if not renewed by NBC but someone else

  • CBSviewer

I’m shocked ! I mean it got a 1.0 and it got Renewed. But it’s a good news for the fans :)

  • Ali

This shwo and Misstresses must be really cheap to make, surely.

  • Networkman

I guess the network really loves Poppy Montgomery. Even though I would love to see her on another hit drama on CBS. Maybe she can guest star on shows such as Hawaii Five-O or Blue Bloods. I wouldn’t even mind seeing her join an establish show such as NCIS:LA.

Anyways, speaking of Hawaii Five-O, I would love to see Bruno Mars guest star since that is the place he grew up.

  • Ralph Hahn

    YAY!!!

  • John A

So basically the 6 unaired episodes will be part of season 3 so technally its only getting 7 episode renewel. Good idea it was doing bad but Sony are known to make things dirt cheap.

  • JC

This is great news and not sure why it surprises anyone. It was a solid performer when it aired originally in the fall of 2011 and could have easily been renewed then. It seemed to do just as well (by summer standards) when it returned this summer.

  • omabin

I find this surprising. It must be ridiculously cheap.

  • Charmed

@JohnA Where are you hearing this?

  • Shepherd

    Wow! Totally shocked.

  • donj1973

I think the 6 unaired episodes will air this winter.

It’s all a matter of perspective – UnF managed to double what TGW (R) was doing in the timeslot, which in turn helped TM (R). UnF also started so late because of PM’s pregnancy that it kind of got lost in the shuffle. I don’t watch the show, but I’m all for original scripted programming in the summer. I hope the trend continues.
