NBC and CNN have both canceled their Hillary Clinton projects. NBC announced its Hillary Clinton miniseries, with Diane Lane attached to star as the First Lady turned Senator and Secretary of State, at last summer's Television Critics Association panels,
NBC issued a statement: "“After reviewing and prioritizing our slate of movie/mini-series development, we’ve decided that we will no longer continue developing the Hillary Clinton mini-series."
CNN claims that it is canceling its planned Clinton documentary because the director decided he no longer wated to be involved. “Charles Ferguson has informed us that he is not moving forward with his documentary about Hillary Clinton … [W]e won’t seek other partners and are not proceeding with the film.”
Both projects were controversial because if Clinton runs for president in 2016, they could influence the public's perception of her as well as lead to demands for equal air time from other candidates.
