Once Upon A Time Episode 301

Adults 18-49: Rating/Share 5.6/15 3.3/9 2.0/5 1.6/4 1.1/3
Adults 18-34: Rating/Share 4.5/14 3.3/10 1.5/5 0.9/3 0.8/3
Total Viewers (million) 15.347 8.062 6.711 9.453 2.922

NOTE: Due to the nature of live  programming the ratings for NBC, FOX & CBS (NFL Football)  are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. In multiple East Coast markets, including New York City, CBS's entire primetime lineup started fifteen minutes late due to NFL overtime.

NBC was number one among adults 18-49 and with total viewers.

On NBC  Sunday Night Football, which featured a match-up between the Patriots and the Falcons earned a preliminary 6.7 down 29 percent from last week's preliminary 6.9 adults 18-49 rating from 8:30-11PM.

On ABC, a Once Upon A Time clip show earned a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating down 32 percent from last year’s 1.9 on September 30, 2012. The season premiere of Once Upon A Time scored a 2.6 down 33 percent from last year’s 3.9 but up 13 percent from a 2.3 for last spring’s finale. Your predictions were accurate. The season premiere of Revenge garnered a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating down 25 percent from last year’s 3.2 but up 41 percent from a 1.7 for the season 2 finale on May 12. The series premiere of Betrayal notched a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating down 29 percent from a 2.1 for the series premiere of 666 Park Avenue in the timeslot last year and tying Red Widow as ABC's lowest in-season Sunday debut ever. Those who wish to play Fan Excuse Bingo will note that last year, ABC’s primetime lineup was not competing with the series finale of Breaking Bad.

Note: CBS’s primetime line-up was delayed by fifteen minutes in multiple East Coast markets including New York, Chicago, Houston, Detroit, Tampa, Nashville, Hartford, Kansas City, Memphis and Knoxville, due to football overruns. Consider these numbers scrambled! However, it's safe to say that all of CBS's programs are down from last year.

On FOX, NFL Football scored a preliminary 6.3 adults 18-49 rating. The season premiere of The Simpsons earned a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating down 26 percent from last year’s 3.8 on Sunday, September 30, 2012. The season premiere of Bob’s Burgers garnered a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating down 19 percent from last year’s 2.6. The season premiere of Family Guy notched a 2.6  adults 18-49 rating down 21 percent from a 3.3 last year. The season premiere of American Dad scored a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating down 16 percent from last year’s 2.5.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

OUAT, Revenge, Betrayal all about .3 higher than I expected. Revenge surprised me the most; I figured it would be at least 10% behind OUAT.

I expect Betrayal to fall hard in the coming weeks. It was easily the worst premier I’ve seen in recent years; I still can’t believe it did better than 1.3.

Again, Revenge was the biggest surprise for me, I didn’t expect better than a 2.0 or maybe a 2.1 but I wouldn’t have been surprised if it had fallen anywhere between 1.7 and 2.3.

OUAT did alright if it can hold these numbers, which I don’t expect ti will. I guessed 2.3 tops, so it did better than I expected, but I’m still lmao at everyone guessing in the 3’s.

I think TGW and TM did about what everyone expected. They’ll probably hold fairly steady of course having established a fan base.

  • Glue

Betrayal wasn’t as bad as I expected. It’s an okay show. I hoped it would’ve gotten just a two tenths higher but whatever.

  • Greg P

ABC- All shows came in within .2 of my predictions. They can’t keep sending shows like this (Betrayal, Red Widow, 666 Park Ave, GCB, etc…) to the same time slot and expect a different result. Depending on how Thurs goes, maybe they move Wonderland to Sundays at 9 and slide Revenge down to 10pm?

  • Mon

The Good Wife… the end is neEAARRR!!!! So near!!!

  • buttondiet

Really nice to see Revenge back in the 2’s!

  • John A

Great for Revenge but it had all that hype. Lets see how it holds up. Ugh pathetic for The Good Wife.

  • Cyrax86

@senor chang, The difference would be minimal (i.e. Lucky 7 would have scored the 1.5), these shows had zero chance regardless of scheduling.

  • ToXiX

Lucky 7 doesn’t look AS bad now since Betrayal also flopped hard , even though it did better than L7

  • Flack

So disappointed for mentalist and good wife. But hey times are changing and as much as I love both shows I think they’ve run their course.

  • Brian

Great numbers for OUAT! These are the numbers appropriate for the show. Anything about 2.6 is great. I think it will adjust up in the finals :)

  • Cle

I think there is chance for all ABC line-up rise in coming weeks..

  • Ann

I don’t personally see these as great numbers for OUAT. Especially for a season premiere. I love the show and want it to continue. It has problems certainly but I still would like to see if get a few more years. But these aren’t really all that great are they?

  • Fred

Considering the intense competition, ABC did OK.
Expected worse for OUAT, REVENGE and BETRAYAL

  • gerry

    here we go again.

revenge held up well. can’t wait to watch it tonight!

good wife last night was fantastic, though i feel like there is going to be no real way to decipher all these numbers until football is over WHICH IS WHY CBS AIRS IT THERE. for all the people LOLing at good wife… its on it’s 6th season. so telling you to suck it seems to be in order. :)

  • DKD

Looks like football was down a point from last week. I’m guessing that’s the “Breaking Bad finale” effect and not the Fox animation effect.

  • DM

ABC Sunday 10 pm time slot continues to prove to be the kiss of death…

  • ToXiX

    The Amazing Race falling :D

Maybe CBS will finally get rid of that turd.

  • frodo

Some outlets are reporting a 2.5 for Revenge, It will probably adjust up to a 2.5 which is good considering how the season finale did. Next week no Breaking Bad, the Homeland premiere also disappointed viewers so that should work in Revenge’s failure. I watch Homeland, Revenge, Breaking Bad and Boardwalk Empire so it was a busy night. LOL

I think Revenge will stay in the 2.1-2.5 range this season which is really good for ABC and the highly competitive Sunday 9 PM time slot. With less breaks and more buzz maybe it can even go up somewhat.

  • r0ckmypants

@josh – OUAT is already in season three…

  • Cody

What network executive does CBS have dirty pictures of to get a syndication deal to big enough to justify The Good Wife’s continued existence?
