We Are Men is about to be named We Are Cancelled. That was a horrible debut ratings-wise, but the race to the first show cancelled may go to (un)Lucky 7. My guess is tonight’s episode will be its last. Dads isn’t long for this world either, but the fact that it still outdrew The Mindy Project is quite telling.

Now of course, the race is on to which show gets the first full season order besides MJF. We’ll have to see how SHIELD does tonight, but my guess is if stays around 4, then there will be a mad dash among ABC, NBC, and FOX to announce full season orders of SHIELD, SH, and TB.

How many more weeks of look-away ratings before people stop rushing to make excuses for CBS? We are in week 2 of the season and 9pm tentpole 2BG is at Partners levels.

Maybe CBS is the “new FOX,” looking at ~25% decay in a single season. All of the Big 4 have weak spots but CBS’ troubles seem structural and without an easy fix.

LOVED the episode of “BONES” last night and happy it did BETTER this week!
    (Take that…DWTS!)
“Blacklist” was good, but NOT HALF as good as the premiere.
Isabella Rosalini was an interesting guest star.

We Are Men! And we are afraid of bears!

@3terms4obama. Who is making excuses? nearly everyone is stating just how dire these numbers are for CBS Monday.

I for one don’t make any excuses for the Net – or the exec who made the decision to move 2.5 Men. I still think the comedy block would be down even with Men still on but it wouldn’t be down and out – which it is now (exception of HIMYM). After the year when Men went into repeats they managed to cast Kutcher and it did pretty well – it gave the night some much needed stability so why the hell move it? Really, really stupid thing to do.

I think it was arrogance over 2BG’s – thinking it was strong enough to anchor the night. I also think putting Mike and Molly on the bench was another arrogant move – it always did fairly well against the hardest half hour of the voice and bringing it back in a few weeks won’t repair the damage that’s been done to their Monday night schedule.

They do have other issues. None of their ten pm dramas are doing too well (except, it could be argued, Blue Bloods on Friday). They’ve gone from having some of the top rated ten pm shows, to having a whole bunch of shows hardly able to get above a two!

They also have some of their bigger beasts really starting to show signs of age. I think the next year or two will be very interesting for CBS. They aren’t going to completely implode or anything, but I am not sure they’ll be able to regain the sort of dominance they showed only two seasons back.

I don’t see how CBS keep Hostages on Mondays after this. Those numbers are truly horrific.

  • charmedcraft

I watched TB earlier and it was just as bad as the pilot. I think I’ll just tune in to the last 20 minutes when something actually happens or just skip it all together.

I did like Hostages so I’ll watch that one while it lasts.

I’m done with Mom, I’m sick of seeing pregnant teens everywhere, plus the shows not funny.

2 Broke girls is not like it used to be; I only watch if nothing else is on.

WAM was bad, won’t be tuning in anymore.

    Happy for SH.

I´m glad Castle didn´t adjust down. Its ratings may not be that great (altough for now they are better than last year), but they are solid:)

Even Vegas could pull in 10+ million viewers for each episode. I don’t remember a time where a CBS drama airing sometime other than Friday, failed to pull in 7-8+ million viewers.

I don’t know how the writers planned to stretch out the Hostages story line over 15 episodes, let alone multiple seasons should it be renewed.

But it won’t. So that problem’s solved.

Bones holds! Sleepy Hollow can hold its head high!

Still good for Blacklist. Castle solid as a rock.

  • LANDO’S SON

Hang in there Sleepy Hollow, the last episode had some really creepy moments, and that was a good thing.

  • RJ

That is a ghastly adjustment for The Blacklist. Three tenths, wow. Still, 3.3 means only a 13% drop from its first episode, which is acceptable, I think.

  • reallypeople

Ouch at the Blacklist drop. I’d hate to think where it’d be without the Voice as its lead in. History is repeating itself as similar to Smash and Revolution, it seems to need the Voice to sustain itself.

I agree that a renewal/pick up of additional episodes for Sleepy Hollow should be announced very shortly. It’s crafted itself into their new 24. Their water cooler talk worthy, ratings hit drama. (Which is infinitely twitter-able and tumblr friendly, an angle that didn’t exist when 24 first ran).

“CBS comedy block is just a horrible mess. They should never have moved Two and a Half Men.”

Two and a Half Men has been garbage since Charlie Sheen got fired. Two Broke Girls is a much better show (post Sheen anyway). I just think Sleepy Hollow’s success and being up against MNF and The Voice is hurting 2BG’s ratings. It’s ok though, because it will be renewed. I watch it live most weeks and DVR it if there’s a good game on (last two games stunk though so I watched it live).

  • lupe

I’m just glad that Castle still doing good, and I believe it should do better as the season goes on

  • Ann

My pick for We Are Men to be the first show canceled is looking very good right about now. Fox has some shows doing worse like Dads but I don’t think they like being first to can one of their shows. Of course (un)Lucky 7 may also get canceled first too.

  • Ji (g)

poor Simon and his small little ratings.

  • Paul P.

I don’t understand how people can have such dislike for a network re. CBS.
At our home we watch shows on all of them – TBBT, POI, H5O, Scandal, The Voice, Glee, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, etc. etc. CBS has provide a lot of great entertainment for many decades!

  • CBSviewer

    @ Ann

Lucky 7 will be canceled before We Are Men ;)

  • dan
