CLUB LEON CONTINUES ITS PURSUIT OF THE PLAYOFFS AGAINST PUEBLA THIS SATURDAY LIVE AT 9PM/8C/6P ON TELEMUNDO
MIAMI – October 2, 2013- Club Leon continues its pursuit of the Mexican League playoffs facing Puebla this Saturday at 9PM/8C/6P on Telemundo as both teams face off in a Week 13 clash. Leon looks to bounce back after losing for just the second time in the tournament, 1-0 against Cruz Azul, as it tries to keep pace with America at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Puebla puts its postseason aspirations to the test on the road. Andrés Cantor will be on the call from Nou Camp Stadium, where Leon boasts a 3-1-2 record, alongside the commentary and analysis provided by Sammy Sadovnik.
Leon arrives to this match with four Mexican National Team players on its squad: Jonny Magallon, Luis Montes, Carlos Alberto “Gullit” Peña and Rafa Marquez. Each and every one of them are part of a Mexican squad that will put everything on the line to obtain a World Cup berth on October 15 against Costa Rica, a contest that can also be seen on Telemundo. Magallon, Montes, Peña and Marquez will be key components for Leon, which currently stands in second place three points behind the leader.
Puebla’s situation is a little less comfortable and a lot more dramatic as they are mired in ninth place with 15 points, four points away from the last playoff spot that currently belongs to eighth place Queretaro. Puebla hasn’t lost in its last three matches and is coming off a 2-0 win against Tijuana, and obtaining three points in hostile territory would be an important step to bolster their postseason aspirations. Alfredo “Chango” Moreno will be one of their main protagonists as the Puebla striker attempts to score against the league’s best defense, which has allowed just eight goals in 12 matches thus far.
