STAMFORD, Conn. – October 2, 2013 - NBC Sports Group’s 23rd season broadcasting Notre Dame Football continues this Saturday with the 2013 Shamrock Series from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas – the home of the Dallas Cowboys – when the Notre Dame Fighting Irish host the No. 22 Arizona State Sun Devils at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Coverage will begin at 7 p.m. ET with Countdown To Kickoff, NBCSN’s live on-site pre-game show.

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly and starting QB Tommy Rees lead the Fighting Irish (3-2), against the Sun Devils and QB Taylor Kelly, who led Arizona State to a 62-41 victory over USC last weekend in Tempe, Ariz. Saturday’s game marks the third all-time meeting between Notre Dame and Arizona State; the Fighting Irish won the first-ever meeting, 28-9, in 1998, followed by a 48-17 victory over the Sun Devils in 1999.

Tom Hammond, who served as NBC’s Notre Dame Football play-by-play voice for nearly 20 seasons, will call the game this week in place of Dan Hicks, who will be covering The President’s Cup. Hammond is joined by analyst Mike Mayock and sideline reporter Alex Flanagan.

Liam McHugh hosts Countdown To Kickoff on the field at AT&T Stadium, home of the five-time Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys. McHugh is joined on-site by 1984 Heisman Trophy Winner Doug Flutie and two-time Super Bowl champion Hines Ward. McHugh, Flutie and Ward will also manage half-time coverage for the telecast.

Has any of these primetime ND games ever bled over and caused an SNL delay XFL-style? I think NBC has gotten lucky so far. Miley Cyrus hosting this week – they better hope for no OT.
