  • In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 1.0/5; "Late Show," 0.7/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/4.
  • From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
  • From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.6/6 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.7/5 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/3).

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

I dont understand the madness here! When someone says that a show that delivers poor ratings will get cancelled it doesn’t mean he is a hater to show!
So crazy fans of mindy, neighbors and whatever other show at low 1s cool down!
Your shows will get cancelled because nobody watches them besides you and not because you found people here to call hem “haters” ;)

  • Dorothy5334

POI demo already at 2.0 and it is October. Imagine the demo in the spring at Tuesdays at 10. 1.2 or 3 or 4. That is almost a guarantee. Is total collapse under 1.0? It is definitely going to be in the 1?s. the half hour was 1.9 at 10:30. It’s already collapsing into nothing in its timeslot. It has collapsed and is doing horribly and 5 or 6 seasons after this horrible collapse where everything is failing/

Omg seriously… It WILL NOT drop that much.. This is not a new show.. You are comparing its drops like a new series.. It has its own fanbase that will remain watching it every wk… I would love a bet with you when it continues to get renewed every year.

  • TP

    @ Theisssuesarenow

and then CBS will cancel it and CW will buy it ;)

  • KJ Styles

I KNEW that Ziva’s final episode of NCIS would beat Agents of SHIELD! I wish I could have gotten someone to take that bet!

You should ve here on Saturday s when the neighbors endure so much vitriol.

  • bluejays

Yes, of course I’ve seen POI. A few times and it IS a procedural – albeit one with a serialized ongoing plot. Which in essence makes it not all that different to shows like HFO (with the whole ‘red box, McGarrett family history) or NCIS LA etc.

Look at SVU – you could drop in and watch one week and ‘get’ most of it but there might be bits you didn’t, if you’d not watched for a long time. I’d say most of these shows these days mix procedural with ongoing plots. POI is a bit heavier in the ongoing arc, I’d say, but still procedural enough to be healthy in repeats (which so far the ratings bear out).

my point is that this website predicts renewals and cancellations based on the ratings (18-49), as do the networks, and not based on the quality of a show.

Well based on the ratings neighbors is DOA. I don’t know about the quality of the show, I have never seen it but it doesn’t matter. I have seen better shows (like Happy endings) getting cancelled from ABC(at Season 3!!!!) because of similar ratings!

  • gerry

i’ve watched alot of the new comedies. bk 99 and trophy wife are my favorites, crazy ones in third. bk99 needs to be backed up into the dads spot to get the SH viewers. dads needs to be cancelled (and before lucky 7 so i can be right in my ‘first cancelled show’ poll guess!).

as for trophy wife, why it didn’t air after modern family is beyond me! instead, they’re going to air SFN there, which will go the way of APT 23 and be gone, when they could have put TW there and it would have been much more successful and gotten more eyeballs, because it is a funny show! TG is ok, a little young in humor for me. (perhaps that should have aired at 830 between the middle and MF? just sayin)

  • Matt

Oh, AND SHIELD was against a huge episode for NCIS. I’m expecting to see big DVR lifts for this SHIELD episode, to around a 5.0 and 11 million.

  • spinthesky

Correction, not that it makes a difference, but The Mindy Project is 61 episodes away from syndication, not 74.

And overall viewers are more or less irrelevant. If Mindy can continue to beat out Dads and B99 in the demo, then it has a higher chance of survival. FOX obviously loves Mindy, and I doubt it would clear out 3/4 of their Tuesday lineup. Remember, it was renewed last year averaging out 1.4 – 1.8 in ratings. It very well might surprise everyone again this season too.

  • Charmed

At the end of this season Mindy will be about 40 episodes away from syndication

  • Ann

Another great night for Chicago Fire! They have started off this season on fire (pun intended) and these numbers back that up.

  • bjssp

If Fox really wants to help its comedies, it can move some of them to Wednesday and/or Thursday and put Master Chef on at 8:00.

  • Jon

Point shares a lot of the same demo as sons of anarchy. Point will eventually rise back up.

  • James

    Oh my….at Shield.

  • Dollface

Trophey wife is not bad I even liked it.

  • TP

    @ Charmed

Happy endings was closer to syndication last year ;)

  • Mike

Hysterical episode of B99 last night. Then I switched to The Goldberg’s
and enjoyed it as well. What can you say about ratings-People don’t give shows the time to become syndicatable classics anymore.Especially quirky shows.A show like Barney Miller or the Wonder Years would face the same problems as these shows today vs a 1000 cable originals,,Netflix originals, etc.

  • Sammy01

It seems obvious Fox should move Bones to Tuesday instead of Friday and move Dads and either B99 or Mindy to Friday instead.

Bones will get its usual low 2’s where ever it is (bar Friday) and Fox can pick Mindy or B99 for that 9.30pm slot.

Dads is dead already, so why waste a more valuable slot on it, plus only one of B99 or Mindy are going to get renewed, might as well pick which Fox prefers now and stop wasting better time slots on the other.

  • Douglas from Brazil

Suburgatory will be returning to tuesday for its 3rd and final season of 13 episodes.Don’t expect a renewal for a 4th season due that ABC doesn’t own the show.
