#1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW
“FACE THE NATION” FINISHES FIRST IN VIEWERS, ADULTS 25-54 AND HOUSEHOLDS (TIED WITH NBC) FOR THE FIRST
BROADCAST WEEK OF THE SEASON
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers, adults 25-54 – the demographic most important to those who advertise in news – and households (tied with NBC) on Sunday, Sept. 29. The CBS broadcast posted 3.02m viewers, 0.8/04 in adults 25-54 and 2.1/06 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 50% of the CBS affiliates.
FACE THE NATION also posted its largest audience and best adults 25-54 ratings since July 14, 2013, in addition to its best household performance since August 4, 2013.
On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and former National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski. Schieffer also hosted a panel on foreign policy with David Ignatius, a columnist for the Washington Post, Gerald Seib, Washington bureau chief of the Wall Street Journal, CBS News Foreign Correspondent Clarissa Ward, CBS News State Department Correspondent Margaret Brennan and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson.
FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer. FACE THE NATION is one of the longest-running news programs in the history of television. It premiered on CBS on Nov. 7, 1954. The program broadcasts from Washington, D.C., where Schieffer has spent more than 40 years covering government and politics. He has anchored FACE THE NATION since 1991.
