Premiere Episode Surpasses 22 Million Viewers Across Platforms

Next All-New Episode Airs Monday, October 7, on FOX

FOX will delve into a second season of the hit action/adventure series SLEEPY HOLLOW, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

“The show has proven to be a risk well worth taking – it’s a conceptual blast unlike anything else on television and it all holds together with inventive writing and a fantastic cast,” said Reilly. “I can’t wait for fans to experience what else is in store for this fall and even more of this wild ride into Season Two.”

The series premiere of SLEEPY HOLLOW earned a 5.0/13 rating among Adults 18-49 and drew 13.6 million viewers after three additional days of time-shifted viewing, making it FOX’s most successful fall drama premiere since the debut of “24” in November 2001. In fact, with its encore, post-three-day playback on DVR and VOD, and its streaming on www.Fox.com and www.Hulu.com, the series premiere of SLEEPY HOLLOW has already drawn an audience of more than 22 million. In Week Three, SLEEPY HOLLOW showed increasing retention, delivering a 3.0/8 rating and holding 97% of the prior week's Adults 18-49 delivery.

In the next all-new episode of SLEEPY HOLLOW, “The Lesser Key of Solomon,” airing Monday, Oct. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) search for Abbie’s estranged sister, Jenny (guest star Lyndie Greenwood), who has escaped from a Sleepy Hollow psychiatric hospital. In a game-changing episode, which includes flashbacks to the real Boston Tea Party, Abbie and Ichabod discover more about the evil they are facing.

SLEEPY HOLLOW is a thrilling mystery-adventure drama series spanning two and a half centuries, in which a resurrected Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) pairs up with a present-day police lieutenant (Nicole Beharie) to save the enigmatic town of Sleepy Hollow – and the world – from unprecedented evil.

From K/O Paper Products in association with 20th Century Fox Television, SLEEPY HOLLOW is co-created by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Phillip Iscove and Len Wiseman (“Hawaii Five-0,” “Underworld” and “Total Recall”). The series is executive-produced by Kurtzman, Orci, Wiseman, Mark Goffman, Ken Olin and Heather Kadin. Iscove serves as supervising producer. Wiseman directed the pilot. “Like” SLEEPY HOLLOW on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/SleepyHollowFOX. Follow the series on Twitter @SleepyHollowFOX and join the discussion at #sleepyhollow.

@TomShaw – My guess is even if Almost Hunan fails, they always have back ups and my guess is there’s no way it can do worse than The Mob Doctor. Sleepy Hollow is the first fox fall drama to get a second season since Glee as Lone Star, Terra Nova and Mob Doctor all failed.

AH will probably do OK and will most likely air all episodes.

As far back as 2006 Bones was always rumored to at one point move to Fridays, however I don’t think it has ever aired a single episode on Fridays.

its the only new show so far that has me excited
and i’ve watched the blacklist and hostages which are ok

betrayal is a bit meh and seeing as it DOA anyway don’t know if i should bother
i have yet to watch ironside

and shield is something else , its not new per se as its an extension of marvel superhero world minus the superheroes of the movies but yeah coulson is alive still not getting old lol

Awesome! This is the BEST show of the entire season. Hands down it’s the most original and creative show. Hoping they can keep is interesting and not corny like The Following.

  • Jon

So this show is basically the new “Following” for FOX

  • Dan S

Very smart by Fox to let SH timeshare the season with The Following. Even smarter to give it a early renewal for a show that has already stabilized in the ratings.

  • Penny

YES! Favorite new show this season.

  • FOX&ABC lover

Whoa. Just about time. :) Go SleepyHeads! Lol

Its very predictable.. thats why i dont like it. I called all major events in the first episode. How do you keep people watching when they can predict all the twists and turns. Also the lead is hard to watch.. hes not very convinving. And theres going to be a love story between Crane and the balck cop.. they set that up right from the start. Good for the fans and the actors of the show.. but i see a downward spiral coming. Now that its renewed its ratings will drop. Actually didnt they already drop this week. Its amazing a show like this gets all sorts of hype but Hostages which is really good, well written, well acted, a good story so far.. gets no hype. I love how tv works now a days.

I don’t mind the cable length, but I’d prefer a 16-18 episode order like Lost final 3 seasons, its not too little and not too much, the perfect episode order to have it both ways.

  • Asashii

yeah nothing like waiting almost a year for your favorite shows to return to the next season, YAWN… boring…. I move on after 6 months to other things and lose interest after that, seriously like i can remember what happened a year ago from 1 show out of 20. Will wait until its had its full run then watch streaming or download!!!

    @Kate Everything says a 13 ep 2nd season. Back for fall 2014.

Fox probably wanted to put out some good news before the cancellations.

The employees in Wilmington must be happy.

  • I LOVE TV!

    Shut up. That is all

  • gerry

i never expected this show to do this well, but good for it. and good for fox, considering the train wreck that is most other nights on their schedule. they must be chomping at the bit for idol to come back.

  • CBSviewer

It’s maybe too early ? I mean FOX only aired 3 episodes.
    But it’s a great and it’s well deserved :)

  • AllOfHerTw!st

Wow, I predicted everything you were going to say in your post. Boring!

  • Sean

Im wondering why the iTunes season pass for this show is the same price as shows with 22 episode seasons.

  • Xolilito

Well someone seems jealous that their favorite show is a flop. LOL

  • Nancy Hayes

Very happy news! Sleepyheads rejoice! Fresh show, interesting stuff. Not the same old regurgitated fodder usually seen on every network. Love Sleepy Hollow!

  • Michelle O
