Lucky 7

Lucky 7 has been canceled by ABC after just two low rated episodes. This week's installment garnered a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating. It will be replaced, for now, with repeats of Scandal.

SHOULD HAVE NEVER CANCELLED BODY OF PROOF ABC, it may now get Scandal’s ratings but it has such a strong fan base and would achieve around 8 million and a 1.5/1.6 rating. ABC should quickly make a decision and uncancel Body of Proof before the cast signs to new shows for fall 2014 or quickly start promoting Killer Women and get that in the schedule for November.

The three people who watched it are disappointed for sure.

    Hey Bear,

Where do you think your next meal will come from? Will it be a show from CBS perhaps?

There was a summer series with Luke Perry about lotto winners, and an Aaron Spelling one in the 80’s. Even in the 50’s was ‘Millionare’ about winners.

In 50-10 years, this idea will try again.

BTW: Last year, the big 4 networks were gun-shy about being the first to cancel a show. The big joke was “Take bets when Mob Doctor get cancelled?” FOX kept it on and ratings got lower and lower. Once another network pulled a plug, the low rated shows fell like dominoes, and Mob Doc finally was put to sleep.

Where is the reference to how we all did in the poll?

Haha see ABC you should’ve kept BOP… Dummies

It couldn’t have happened to a better show-hope the bear is full for several days until the next one

I still think Lucky 7 should have been done as a seven-episode “limited series” for midseason, following the format of the original UK show on which it was based (one episode focused on each syndicate member). If it’s a hit and worth renewing, like that “limited series” Under the Dome? Do it again with a new syndicate! Repeat until cancellation, knowing it’ll plug in easily to the schedule when needed!

Scandal repeats make a *lot* of sense here. The show is white-hot right now, and assuming these are S3 repeats from five days earlier, act as a catchup that will help Thursdays.

I say this as a Dana Delany fan – but people are delusional if they think this is some sort of proof that, er, Body of Proof should’ve been renewed – that show had 10 out of 13 episodes go under the 1.5 mark in 18-49 demo. In no way could you justify renewing it.

Hopefully Dana & co are off doing better and more successful projects instead of sitting at home gloating over Lucky 7’s cancellation.

@TV Expert – “SHOULD HAVE NEVER CANCELLED BODY OF PROOF ABC, it may now get Scandal’s ratings”

Fox orders additional scripts for Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Looking at the quality of Lu7 and Betrayal, I have to wonder how bad ABC’s Spring Pilots are. It’s one thing to green-light a lemon or two, but airing them in the fall?

  • Rook

Called this one when shows were announced. Kind of makes up for me figuring the only show that might beat it to cancellation was Sleepy Hollow.

  • mike93

i thought lucky 7 would be cancelled but not after only 2 episodes! wow.

  • Dochas

I would love to know what new series ABC thought would not be as good as Lucky 7. Evidently their thought process was wrong. I know they had more pilots to choose from than just Lucky 7.

  • reo

ugh, i actually wanted to know what happened next week. how is it more profitable to air Scandal reruns than just let Lucky 7 run its small course?

ABC should have never cancelled Body of Proof. I know it’s ratings won’t amazing but it was a very very steady show, never slipped below a 1.2 rating and most of the third season was paid by the tax credit, and so would half of the fourth season if there was one. Everyone thought ABC would have renewed it because it would have been a cheaper option, even if it was just for a mid-season. I guess Paul Lee will be getting fired. Can’t wait to see how bad the mid season shows Mind Games, Killer Women and resurrection flop because they will, we all know it.

On the other hand, i was just like to applaud ABC for SCANDAL! It started of around 6/7 million and a 1.7/2.1 rating for it’s first season and look at it now, it’s ABC’s biggest drama. This kind of shows that a show that doesn’t begin big could still be big. I think shows like The River and GCB had this potential, but ABC cancelled them too quickly. SHAME!

@Shepherd – all money this season seems to have gone into S.H.I.E.L.D and even that seems to have not been ironed out well (and I say this as a Joss Whedon fan). The only new ABC show I honestly like is Trophy Wife and that just seems to be underpromoted and underrated. Shame.

This time slot is always terrible for ABC, at least to watch on network tv.
They should have stuck with it, at least they knew what to expect.
Nothing they put there will do any better unless they move an established show there.

  • fakeem

They should air the remaining episodes under the title “Unlucky .7″
