Which New Fall Broadcast TV Show Will Be Canceled Second? (Poll)

RIP, Lucky 7. The Cancellation Bear is dining on your lottery winnings. But he's still hungry.

So now it's time to guess which new broadcast primetime show you think will be caught by the cancellation bear and canceled second! With two weeks of data, you can make an informed prediction.

Because comment thread lawyers are everywhere, let's be clear that for the purposes of this poll "canceled" means removed from its initially scheduled timeslot, either off the air entirely or rescheduled to a burn off timeslot, even if the network *claims* the show will return later.

What's your guess for this season's second to go?

While I've included all new shows in the poll (in randomized order) expected to premiere before Christmas, the ones premiering late are obviously very highly unlikely to be canceled first, but the adventuresome are more than welcome to take a shot.

Like they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often.

    WTTF

  • Matthew Chapman

Dads for Fox Hostages for CBS and and Welcome to the Family for NBC-Have gone for Dads.

  • South African bystander

Lol, this goes so fast. Just a few weeks in and there’s already bloodshed.

I say “Sean Saves the World” is probably gonna go next… maybe, or possibly “Dads”

  • Cyrax86

    We Are Men

  • eridapo

I voted We Are Men… It was that or betrayal, but since ABC already did their first cancellation I went with WAM

  • Alecia

I think hostages. CBS seems to have less tolerance for low performing shows compare to other networks.

  • AJ

Dads got only a 6 episode order, right?

  • cc

So many possible choices. I took Mom this time.

  • Cyrax86

Betrayal will stay at least as long as 666 Park Avenue did, ABC has only so much dramas unscheduled and the Thursday 8 pm slot also hosts a limited series that needs replacement for 2014.

One thing that’s always important to consider is whether or not the network has a ready replacement on hand for the show that it’s going to pull. The premiere ratings for Welcome To The Family were terrible, but what exactly could they put there that would do better? (Maybe Community, but I have no idea if that show’s produced enough episodes at this point to jump right on to the schedule. Same for Ironside – what could NBC put there. Repeats of The Blacklist or Chicago Fire? Actually, the latter might work.

Despite poor ratings and worse reviews, I don’t think Betrayal is next on the chopping block because ABC has showed patience with its 10 P.M. Sunday failures before. Betrayal was already slated to leave ABC’s schedule at midseason for Resurrection, and now that ABC has the ignominy of having the season’s first cancellation, I think that they’ll want to wait a little while before adding another black mark to their ledger.

Dads is a good candidate, because Fox could slot in Raising Hope into its former timeslot and know exactly what to expect – low, but stable ratings. Dads could be shifted to Fridays for burnoff, or better yet, pulled from the schedule all together.

I voted for We Are Men, because CBS can easily slot in repeats of The Big Bang Theory on Mondays at 8:30. That would probably give a jolt to their faltering Monday schedule by boosting 2 Broke Girls and perhaps Mom to a lesser degree. Hostages probably won’t see much of a bump, but as a ‘limited’ series, CBS has a PR angle to spin with that one.

I didn’t know something was ALREADY cancelled? Damn….

  • CrimTV

We Are Men. NBC are a lot more patient and have lowe expectations, so they will keep WTTF and Ironside on for a couple more weeks. Hostages is a drama which has no replacement for now except repeats until February, but CBS has picked up many comedies and has Mike & Molly waiting as well, it seems the best bet is We Are Men!

  • Oliver

    @JaredK

There’s no reason Community couldn’t replace WTTF. It’s on the same production schedule as a fall show.

  • Survivor Fan

    @ AJ

It was upped to 13 in May.

  • Bob Smith

    We are Men
Hostages will be moved to Fridays and swap with Hawaii Five O, then Hostages will be cancelled.

  • Tomcatt630

Tony Shaloub looks like a cross between Richard Simmons and Big Foot!

‘We r Men’ is “Bearchow” for sure!

  • Body of Poof

lol. Did Dracula even premier? People are already voting it off.

  • xwiseguyx

I thought Ironside did reasonably well.. why all the votes for that.. plus it’s NBC, home of 30 Rock and Parks and Rec, 2 of the lowest rated longest lasting shows ever…

  • Grz12

I knew that WAM would be in trouble when CBS wouldn’t put any of the actual show in the promos, and did nothing but point out Tony Shalhoub was in it. Got my vote.

  • Tomcatt630

The premise of ‘Welcome’, teen pregency, isn’t really a laughing matter.

I like M. O’Malley and “Carlos Solis” R. Chivera, but would have been better with them as feuding brothers in law…oh wait, been done as ‘yes Dear’
