Which New Fall Broadcast TV Show Will Be Canceled Second? (Poll)

RIP, Lucky 7. The cancellation bear is dining on your lottery winnings. But he's still hungry.

So now it's time to guess which new broadcast primetime show you think will be caught by the cancellation bear and canceled second! With two weeks of data, you can make an informed prediction.

Because comment thread lawyers are everywhere, let's be clear that for the purposes of this poll "canceled" means removed from its initially scheduled timeslot, either off the air entirely or rescheduled to a burn off timeslot, even if the network *claims* the show will return later.

What's your guess for this season's second to go?

While I've included all new shows in the poll (in randomized order) expected to premiere before Christmas, the ones premiering late are obviously very highly unlikely to be canceled first, but the adventuresome are more than welcome to take a shot.

Like they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often.

Fair enough. If Community is ready to go, then WTTF could absolutely be pulled after next week’s episode. I still think that We Are Men will be cancelled first, though. NBC just has lower ratings standards that its willing to tolerate than CBS, and given CBS made a big bet on comedy this year, they can’t afford to have their Monday block collapse.

    Welcome to the Family

The top six will go for sure (We are men, Dad’s, Ironside, WTTF, Hostages, Betrayal).. just what order? I guessed Dad’s.

  • Chuck Collins

“IRONSIDE” is owned by Universal. Therefore, the overhead is lower since they are not paying a license fee to anyone. They will keep it around at least until sweeps.

I say Trophy Wife. And I was kinda surprised ABC didn’t pull both shows today. Suburgatory is waiting!

  • Jo

Better question, what should they keep? Not much.

    We Are Men!!!

  • Mathew

I really liked Sean saves the world and welcome to the family!!!

Plus welcome to the families episode has been free on iTunes for a week

NBC : Welcome To The Family (:(((() and Ironside.

CBS : Mom, Hostages, and We Are Men.

ABC : Lucky 7(already), Trophy Wife and maybe Super Fun Night.

FOX : Dads and Brooklyn 99.

    CW : The Originals.

    Breaking this down by network:

ABC – They’ve already canceled one, they won’t cancel a second AT LEAST until another network gets rid of one. Betrayal was already set to be swapped midseason anyway.

NBC – lower expectations in general and I’m not sure what might be slated as filler. I’ve heard mentions of Community so something from their schedule isn’t out of the question.

CW – why even vote for a CW show here? I mean I can’t honestly remember a time when they’ve pulled a scripted drama from the schedule.

Fox – The ONLY reason I didn’t say Dads is that I don’t know just how ready Fox is to damage their relationship with Seth MacFarlane. BUT I actually don’t know that moving Dads to Friday or Sunday would be a bad idea here – it’s obviously targeted towards men and MacFarlane fans so why not pair it up with something more irreverent rather than at 8PM!

CBS – I HAVE to go with CBS’s on this one. (And no Hostages won’t be canceled – too much of a PR nightmare with their big attempt at a limited series) My money is on We Are Men. CBS does not like to fail and it’s not doing quite so well this season. I’m guessing they pull it and use repeats of Big Bang (which get hire ratings on rerun than a lot of shows do on first run) to bolster the rest of their comedy line up.

  • Kate

Also on Originals low ratings – most of it’s viewership has already seen the episode they showed on Thursday and I’m guessing that for that reason no one tuned in I’ll withhold judgement until it airs an actual new epi.

  • Kate

Last statement (sorry three in a row) – I’m correcting myself. CW pulled Cult last season – it was so bad i didn’t even remember that it came and went. But those ratings were abysmal.

We Are Men. Its a poor excuse for a comedy. Nothing funny about it

I’m standing by my initial We’re Man vote, BBT repeats coming in a week or so, followed by Mike & Molly. Mom might not be that strong, but I don’t see it going anywhere yet. NBC will probably cancel one of their flop comedies too, but I don’t really follow the ratings for those, so can’t say which one. People voting for CW shows or other networks’ shows yet to premiere are crazy, with so many duds I expect the next cancellation by this time next week. Dads will be next, but probably not as soon as people expect.

  • DenverDean

Whoever voted for B99 obviously didn’t get word that FOX ordered more scripts. Not that it was in danger of being 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th. WAM, Dads, Hostages, Ironside, Betrayal and WTTF are all ahead on the list.

  • Flame

It’s sadly going to be Dads.

  • FringeFan

Logically “Dads” should be canceled next because it ends relatively soon. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hostages is canceled after this week’s episodes. Although, I fully believe CBS will air all 15 episodes of Hostages whether it be online or on a new night (Friday or Saturday?).

  • Tom

    @ Kate

Cult was pulled from its original Tuesday timeslot after two episodes and burned off on Fridays. So, if you want to get technical, it was shifted not cancelled.

  • Jared

Fox won’t pull Dads from the schedule but most likely the network will let Dads air its initial 6 episode order and cancel it after that. I predict either Ironside or Welcome to the Family as the next cancellation.
