    Go LMS!

I was a bit sad at first seeing H50 shipped off to Fridays “to die” or whatever, but the show may have found a home where it can flourish for another couple of seasons.

  • John A

    Good for Dateline.

  • Clarke

Great numbers for ABC. Shark Tank continues to dominate and LMS is doing decent for Fridays.
The Neighbors is low but steady…I think ABC should leave it there for a while and it might build an audience over time. It’s a really unique, quirky show and I hope it can survive.

  • JR35

Always nice to see upward movement for the already impressively rated Shark Tank/ :)

  • Mike

hopefully H50 rises and steadys at a 1.7 or hopefully it moves to a better night if it gets renewed

  • Fred

Shark Tank is so profitable. A 1.9 for such a low budget show on Friday is very impressive. Some very expensive scripted shows would be happy with a 1.9.

  • Barbie

So, Hawaii Five-0 did perform better than Blue Bloods. Interesting. And awesome :)

  • lakersupbyten

Five 0 top CBS demo of the night with the 2nd overall viewership at almost 10 million. Wait till the dvrs numbers are added…still has a good chance at the 2 demos. Looks like five o brought their own audience without effecting other shows. A win, win situation.

  • Tim

DVR number mean nothing because advertisers don’t pay for them.
In past years everyone was saying how the 10 pm slots were allowed weaker numbers because all 10 pm shows were underperforming because of dvr use at tt time. So I say BB in a Friday and in the 10 pm slot , did better than h50. Only a0.1 demo difference and more total viewers :-)
If h50 gets a 1.7 demo when Grimm returns I will consider it a win, win situation. But I doubt that very much :-)

Hawaii 50 is perfect Friday show. It’s escapist fun and you don’t have to watch every week. Almost 10 million is great for Friday. One smart thing abc did. I honestly think the goldbergs would be a good fit after last man standing.

  • lakersupbyten

Tim that is a good scenario for Five 0. I see that as a real possibility of 1.7 demo. Viewership of five o is growing. Grimm looks to have a totally different audience as Shark tank..I suspect each audience is already solid for the show they like and the numbers will show little change regardless…imo.

  • AniMatsuri

Good to see the over all numbers were steady for H50.

  • forg

Shark Tank is such a gem. Sometimes I think ABC should move it to other night but then again it’s hard to gain traction on Fridays so might as well keep it there

Nice rebound for LMS. I hope it goes back to 1.5 (which was its regular rating last season) or even climb higher

Sad for The Neighbors, will enjoy it while it lasts.

Everyone needs to remember that H50 is not up against all of its competition yet UNTIL Grimm comes back. Right now its ONLY competition is Shark Tank, which is beating it. So why all the celebrating?
Let’s see what happens when Grimm comes back. My guess is the people watching reruns of Sleepy Hollow right now will move to Grimm when it begins and the regular Grimm viewers will return.

I don’t think you can claim any victory for H50 until we see it up against Grimm and Shark Tank and watch it all come together. Then , after all 3 are on with new episodes for 3-4 weeks, maybe then you can celebrate. Right now, its only competition is beating it.

    As this very site says:

I think at least two out of The Good Wife, The Mentalist, and Hawaii Five-0 get canceled, with Hawaii Five-0 having the best shot at survival so far; I want to see a few more weeks of settling (especially against normal competition) before I declare Hawaii Five-0 the winner, though.

  • Mike 1

I don’t think anyone can claim victory until NBC and FOX air their regular programming,
Right now only abc and CBS are airing their regular shows and abc is the winner. I can see NBC easily jumping to second place when Grimm comes back.

debate over poi has syndication deal with wgn.

Shark Tank is a strong show – it rises over the neighbours and that’s fine. Nobody on this site, me icluded predected that H50 would beat ST. The goal is to get as high as ratings as possible and stabilized Friday ratings which H50 does. Grimm is a different story – it had loyal fanbase but season ended with 1.6 demo and below 6 million viewers – this is going to interesting race between the two. Also, I don’t think Fox show will hurt H50.

  • Randy

The thing that is interesting about Grimm is that it was one of only 2 shows that was rising in the ratings at the end of the season. Who knows if the summer break will ruin that or not but my point was if you add in the Sleepy Hollow rerun viewers to the Grimm viewers (of course there could be cross over already there)it could get interesting.

H50 is also struggling on TNT and that has to be a factor in its future.
I think that thing to watch is what happens in the CBS ratings AND what happens on TNT.

The show is shown internationally but so are almost all CBS shows that have more than one season. IF it fails on TNT and the syndication deal with TNT ends, that will be a huge drop in revenue for CBS and even if another station syndicates it for a lot cheaper will it still be worth it for CBS to produce it being as it is an expensive show? IMO the writing continues to disappoint and it costs a lot of money to depend on explosions and stunts as a way of maintaining interest in the show, especially if after all that the demo is only at 1.5, even for a Friday.
I also think (but don’t know of course) that the bottom line will be what happens on TNT more than on CBS for that show.

It will be interesting to watch all this. To me this is the most fascinating situation for this season all around.

I enjoy your posts, annag! Let’s follow this together!:-)

Very true about Grimm. This is one of the very few shows on NBC that has had very decent ratings without being after The voice and additionally it airs on Friday. NBC should be satisfied with there numbers. As for H50 I am really glad now that it was moved to Friday, never in my dreams have I expected Mondays to become CBS grave yard. They had such a good schedule two seasons ago with TAHM and Mike & Molly and solid performance from H50 and now? Yesterday Hostages hit 1.2 – it must be a slap in CBS face. Also, CBS has just killed Person of interest by putting it on Tuesday. It got very solid numbers and overall viewership on Thursdays. As for Friday, I checked some ratings for CSI NY last season and the numbers went up in winter period, I am counting on the same trend this season, especially now when writing improved- a new team of writers was hired. As I wrote , H50 must really perform well on Fridays, because sindication ratings arendefinitely disappointing. Maybe a maraton of H50 would help, just like TNT did with Castle :)

  • Cara

I’m glad that H50 was able to build and exceed on Undercover Boss’ ratings! CBS did well on Friday night!
