NOTE: Due to the nature of live  programming the ratings for NBC & CBS (NFL Football)  are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers.  In San Diego, the NFL Network's coverage of the San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders game aired on the CBS affiliate, which means CBS numbers may be inflated.

NBC was number one among adults 18-49, but CBS won with total viewers.

On NBC  Sunday Night Football, which featured a match-up between the Texans and the 49ers earned a preliminary 5.7, down a full ratings point from last week's preliminary 6.7  adults 18-49 rating from 8:30-11PM.

On CBS, The start of prime was delayed by 44 minutes in the Eastern and Central timezones, making preliminary ratings essentially worthless. In San Diego, the NFL Network's coverage of the San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders game aired on the CBS affiliate, which means CBS numbers are subject to inflation as well. Check back tomorrow for the finals to get accurate, non-scrambled ratings for 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race , The Good Wife and The Mentalist.

On FOX, The Simpsons matched last week's 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. Bob’s Burgers garnered a 1.9, down three tenths from last week's 2.2 adults 18-49 rating. Family Guy notched a 2.5, down a tenth from last week's 2.6  adults 18-49 rating. American Dad was even with last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, Once Upon A Time scored a 2.5, down a tenth from last week's 2.6 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were spot on!  Revenge garnered a 1.9, down four tenths from last week's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were too optimistic. Betrayal notched a 1.1, down four tenths from last week's 1.5 adults 18-49 rating.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • Bad Wolf

Once Upon a Time and Revenge are slowly dying.

The Good Wife can only be up from last week. That’s good. Not super healthy, but it’s still fighting for its life. And I’m pretty sure The Mentalist is living its last season, there’s really no point continuing next story-wise or ratings wise, especially if CBS gets no profit from syndication.

Betrayal will likely follow the steps of 666 Park Avenue.

  • HB

    Really bad for Revenge

    Better for Once though!

  • r0ckmypants

@k:Alex – Not on Fox, no.

  • tom

Reality check = 1.9 for ABC on Sunday 9pm is crap, pure and simple. No excuses. It will only get worse with Walking Dead airing next week.

  • Douglas from Brazil

Probably if Revenge stays at 1.8-1.9 will get a 4th and final season.

  • josh

anything above 2 is great for ONCE

  • Nerdbot

OMG! I didn’t expect such a big drop for Revenge. I thought it’d get 2.1-2.2. If it wasn’t for this whole syndication situation, I’d be worried. Let’s hope it gets adjusted up when the final numbers come up.

  • CrimTV

INB4 CrimTV comes along and spews some nonsense about Revenge without question getting a 4th season due to syndication. It ain’t happening. Not with a 1.9 in the fall. The show will be cancelled in May.

Excuse Me? I and everyone else here knows that Revenge will 100% get a 4th season due to syndication. Apparently i’m the one spewing nonsense, when you’re declaring that syndication doesn’t matter and that Chicago Fire is doing badly for NBC.

  • SJ

Some people need to chill the f out. The Good Wife never once hit a 2.0 rating last year and yet CBS renewed it. Revenge is already rating better than that this season – and it’s on ABC, which has lower standards than CBS. Factor in syndication and Revenge is a 100% slam dunk renewal.

Why did The Simpsons air their Halloween episode this early on? Are they in repeats for the next three weeks or what?

  • elizabeth

for once upon a time its good i mean a 2.5 is good but for revenge i don’t know if it drops further than that then it wont be worthy for syndication.

  • Raul

Lol Revenge getting the dirty number

  • Dan

All of ABC Sunday is dead. It’s called intense football competition and people have DVRs so they watch football live obviously and then DVR Good Wife, Revenge, Family Guy etc. that’s how I do it

Betrayal will probably just air all 13 episodes, they already pulled Lucky 7 why pull another show?

  • CrimTV

Yes The Simpsons does not return until the beginning of November.

  • jupiter3765

    abc is dead

  • Dan

@SJ – All animated shows are in repeats until Nov 4. That’s why you saw Halloween eps this early.

  • Alex

I don’t get it why are you guys shock, Even in S1, revenge was always in the low 2s its never been a show in the high 2s. Its ratings are better suited at 10pm but not 9 still its a slam dunk renewal

  • SJ

Also that is with this “wow”-ing for The Simpsons ratings? It didn’t even hit a 3.0. Am I the only one who remembers when this show used to hit 4.5+ ratings for its Treehouse of Horror episodes?

  • DenverDean

@Romo. It’s semantics. CBS line-up is scheduled to begin at 7:30 on DH Sundays. The game ran until 7:44, so the line-up is technically delayed by 14 minutes.

As I predicted, Rev would drop. A lot of former viewers like me wanted to see how much the show had changed with all hype for S3E1. After being bored to death, I knew I wouldn’t be back. It’s a shame, show had so much promise.

As far as S3 guarantees renewal. Why is everyone forgetting BOP? It had three seasons and was still cancelled. Doesn’t matter if two were shorter – if Nikita’s six-episodes count as a season than BoP had it beat. Revenge is gone.

  • CrimTV

Hardly. Their Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are fine. It’s just Sundays and Tuesdays they need to work on!

  • Michael

Nashville and Revenge are on a level playing field now! I know, there’s no direct correlation between the two, but they seem to be both performing rather similarly.
