NOTE: Due to the nature of live  programming the ratings for NBC & CBS (NFL Football)  are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers.  In San Diego, the NFL Network's coverage of the San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders game aired on the CBS affiliate, which means CBS numbers may be inflated.

NBC was number one among adults 18-49, but CBS won with total viewers.

On NBC  Sunday Night Football, which featured a match-up between the Texans and the 49ers earned a preliminary 5.7, down a full ratings point from last week's preliminary 6.7  adults 18-49 rating from 8:30-11PM.

On CBS, The start of prime was delayed by 44 minutes in the Eastern and Central timezones, making preliminary ratings essentially worthless. In San Diego, the NFL Network's coverage of the San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders game aired on the CBS affiliate, which means CBS numbers are subject to inflation as well. Check back tomorrow for the finals to get accurate, non-scrambled ratings for 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race , The Good Wife and The Mentalist.

On FOX, The Simpsons matched last week's 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. Bob’s Burgers garnered a 1.9, down three tenths from last week's 2.2 adults 18-49 rating. Family Guy notched a 2.5, down a tenth from last week's 2.6  adults 18-49 rating. American Dad was even with last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, Once Upon A Time scored a 2.5, down a tenth from last week's 2.6 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were spot on!  Revenge garnered a 1.9, down four tenths from last week's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were too optimistic. Betrayal notched a 1.1, down four tenths from last week's 1.5 adults 18-49 rating.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Revenge is protected by the syndication gods. It’s in no danger.

  • cc

    Did TBBT have better numbers this week than SNF?

    Simpsons beating Family Guy.

  • tom

    @Dan

    ABC will lose even more money with Betrayal’s crappy ratings. They are better off airing a repeat of Castle or Grey’s until a midseason show comes along. Besides, FOX animations are better than ABC’s Revenge now.

  • jupiter3765

    nashville will probaly get renewed

  • CrimTV

    @Denver Dean

    Body of Proof had 42 episodes after it’s third season, meaning there were still 46 episodes to air until syndication. Revenge will end this season with 66-68 episodes, meaning they only need one more full season.

  • CBSviewer

    Happy for The Simpsons :) The Mentallist was great last night. Too bad it started at 10:30 !

  • Steve A

    I don’t know how much syndication value a show like Revenge has. Its heavily serialized and even DH tanked in syndication. With Soapnet closing shop, I just don’t see it anywhere for long.

  • Seth

    100% chance Revenge gets renewed

  • Frank the Tank

    @SJ – Fox has postseason baseball conflicts on Sunday for the next 3 weeks. That’s why the Simpsons Halloween episode was so early this year.

  • tom

    At least with Nikita, SyFy can air it. Revenge is too crappy even for Lifetime. They are only doing well in Australia but doing absolutely crap everywhere else internationally.

  • Hel-luhr

    The Good Wife up from last week! Although they could be a tad higher in the demo, CBS has a rock-solid 2-hour block with extremely minute attrition of viewers from TGW to TM.

  • elizabeth

    i just feel that fans demand way to much of revenge if they don’t like one thing about it they give up on it like that. and really wait to see how the show progresses i think people r being a little too harsh on it

    ABC pulls the ol’ ‘dip and slide’, sounds like a new dance craze! lol

    I was a little low guessing OUAT, but I’ll wait for the finals. My guess is that ABC doesn’t expect any upward adjustments or else they would have waited for their press release.

    And the slide begins for Revenge. So much for the writing on Revenge getting ‘back to the basics’ and being as ‘good as season one’. I’m still lmao at everyone saying it could have beat OUaT if it weren’t for the BB finale. I wont discount an adjustment this week, but by week three it will be well below 2.0 and likely will never see above 2 for the remainder of the series. Maybe DDD did more damage than expected.

    I called Betrayal on the button. I’m hoping for no adjustments for that reason alone.

    @ Steve A,
    I don’t know how much syndication value a show like Revenge has. Its heavily serialized and even DH tanked in syndication. With Soapnet closing shop, I just don’t see it anywhere for long.

    If The Good Wife can get a multitude of syndication deals where CBS is getting roughly $2 million an episode I’m sure ABC can get something for Revenge.

  • jupiter3765

    how is abc loosing monet

  • SJ

    @DenverDean

    As far as S3 guarantees renewal. Why is everyone forgetting BOP?

    What?! Please tell me you’re trolling! BOP had 42 episodes, it was at least two full seasons away from syndication. Revenge will have had 66 episodes by the end of this season. I challenge you to find a recent example of a show that had ~66 episodes at the time of cancellation.

    You don’t like the show. Fine, don’t watch it. But don’t come on here being all “ooh, I don’t like it (anymore) so it’s gonna get cancelled” BS. It makes you look pathetic.

    @tom

    At least with Nikita, SyFy can air it. Revenge is too crappy even for Lifetime. They are only doing well in Australia but doing absolutely crap everywhere else internationally.

    Um how exactly do you know it’s doing bad internationally. In the UK it does very well

    i met how is abc loosing money

  • r0ckmypants

    @CrimTV – ABC’s Mondays are far from “fine.” Castle is doing steady business, but DWTS is a shadow of its former self. It’s only been on for three weeks, and its already dropped more than a full ratings point.
