NOTE: Due to the nature of live  programming the ratings for NBC & CBS (NFL Football)  are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers.  In San Diego, the NFL Network's coverage of the San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders game aired on the CBS affiliate, which means CBS numbers may be inflated.

NBC was number one among adults 18-49, but CBS won with total viewers.

On NBC  Sunday Night Football, which featured a match-up between the Texans and the 49ers earned a preliminary 5.7, down a full ratings point from last week's preliminary 6.7  adults 18-49 rating from 8:30-11PM.

On CBS, The start of prime was delayed by 44 minutes in the Eastern and Central timezones, making preliminary ratings essentially worthless. In San Diego, the NFL Network's coverage of the San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders game aired on the CBS affiliate, which means CBS numbers are subject to inflation as well. Check back tomorrow for the finals to get accurate, non-scrambled ratings for 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race , The Good Wife and The Mentalist.

On FOX, The Simpsons matched last week's 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. Bob’s Burgers garnered a 1.9, down three tenths from last week's 2.2 adults 18-49 rating. Family Guy notched a 2.5, down a tenth from last week's 2.6  adults 18-49 rating. American Dad was even with last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, Once Upon A Time scored a 2.5, down a tenth from last week's 2.6 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were spot on!  Revenge garnered a 1.9, down four tenths from last week's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating. Your predictions were too optimistic. Betrayal notched a 1.1, down four tenths from last week's 1.5 adults 18-49 rating.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Yeah, Tom, Revenge did awful in Brazil as well, where happened to be an amazing soap opera named Avenida Brasil with a similar premisse. Too bad for the show.

  • Ray

What the hell! Revenge was so good last night!!! Hopefully the both adjust up!

Who would have thought that out of OUAT, Revenge, and Scandal, Scandal would be the mega hit while the other two will end with a whimper after approx. 4 seasons.

  • Ted Craig

“With Soapnet closing shop, I just don’t see it anywhere for long.”

Hmmm, what cable channel might buy an ABC-produced soap about a pretty little liar?

  • Dylan

Revenge does VERY well in France !

  • SJ

They are only doing well in Australia but doing absolutely crap everywhere else internationally.

  • Bob

    @TV Addict

Its not too long b/f Scandal follows revenge’s track. (how long can a person have an affair with president)

  • Shepherd

As far as S3 guarantees renewal. Why is everyone forgetting BOP? It had three seasons and was still cancelled.

BOP only had 42 episodes after ‘S.3′, less than a show with two full seasons. At only 13 episodes a season, it was still 3+ seasons away from syndication.

  • Sarah

Ouch Revenge. It’s a shame because it’s actually not sucking this season. Guess they lost too many fans last year.

  • elizabeth

well if i remember correctly last year it fell 6 tenths from its premiere and this year it fell 4 tenths from its premiere. if it could stay steady inbetween a 1.8-2.1 it will be fine

  • Abed

Well this proves that now the simpsons seems to be independent from football (or maybe it was beacuase of the “treehouse of horror” episode) and I think that maybe putting at 8 Bob’s Burgers or Family guy or even American dad could benefit the night for FOX (just for the fall when there’s football as lead in).
Family guy and the Simpsons aren’t great as they used to be (talking about ratings). Just look at the season premiers of Family guy:
    season 8 : 5.2
    season 9 : 4.5 Double season premiere 4.3/4.7
    season 10: 4.1
    season 11: 3.3
    season 12: 2.6

  • SG

Revenge was so good last night, I was hoping it would at least hold it’s premiere numbers from last week. The writer’s listened to the viewers but the viewers are no longer interested. Sucks!

  • Shepherd

    Sorry CrimTV.

I’ve never claimed to be a fast typist or reader for that matter.

  • Steve A

Lol @ ABC Family acquiring revenge. I don’t see that.

  • SJ

Just checked, did very well here in Germany as well.

  • SJ

    Revenge did, I mean.

  • K

Revenge has stayed around too long. It is time for it to go.

  • Pooty

REVENGE is just boring! I gave up on it last season when it started becoming unnecessarily confusing with all of the initiatve stuff. But after a long summer, I decided to try it out again this season. I don’t enjoy it. It feels like a chore having to watch it. The storyline is inherently weak and not able to sustain an ongoing series. Amanda could have had her way with he Graysons BY NOW. Also, the cool, low toned conversations between Victoria and Amanda are getting old and boring as are Nolan’s one liners.

  • Ted Craig

    @Steve A

And why is that? Care to offer a counter-argument or is your LOL self-evident?
