Though the first episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered well with a 4.7 adults 18-49 rating, it tumbled big time last week to a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating. Can it recover some ground this week, or is it destined to fall further? Make your predictions below and justify your predictions in the comments!

    I think it’ll fall to a 3.0

    Where are the sunday cable ratings?

  • romo

    Why would it go up ?

  • Kyle

    I’m guessing a 2.9, but hopefully it could bounce up next week.

    Does anyone know what happened to the renew/cancel index?

    Renew/cancel index?

  • shogun

    On topic, I’m still not hearing much good buzz about this show, other than people who praise the ground Joss Whedon walks on. I’m saying a 2.9.

  • Pinkle

    It might fall a bit, last week’s episode was kind of boring compared to the first episode. I’m predicting a 3.1.

    Hope it comes back up, it is one of my favorite new TV shows this season.

    If by recover you mean: not slide as much as it did in its first week, then yes; It certainly has a chance to do that. The second episode was much more entertaining than the first. If, as you say in the ‘article’, you’re asking if it can recover some ground and regain some viewers, the answer is no; the second episode was not that good.

    AoS – 3.0 +/- .1:

    I really think that it has a good chance of staying at or above 3.0 this week, but I also seriously doubt that it will see its bottom.

    The reality is genere shows start strong and almost immediately slide off a sharp cliff and keep falling until they end. Even Whedon and a known property will not change that.

    The ratings for Shield started similar to the V reboot a few years back and that limped into a second season before being cancelled. I do not expect anything more here.

  • Tom

    2.8 Didn’t improve any last week. May have gotten worse. All of the adult viewers will be fleeing.

  • John A

    2.6 hopefully down more.

  • CrimTV

    @John A

    Seriously, why hope a show drops. It’s just immature!

  • John A

    The Renew/Cancel index will be up when its ready. Calm down about it.

    There’s nothing wrong with 3.1, so if they can hold that the show will be fine.
    If they continue to lose viewers then obviously that will be a problem, but only if it drops below 2.5.
    I hope it holds steady, but if the episodes don’t improve greatly, I doubt that will happen.

  • Hobbitual

    I think it’ll probably hit a 2.9. The second episode wasn’t that great.

  • John A

    @Crimtv I dont like it so what?

  • CrimTV

    @John A

    If you don’t like it don’t watch it, but accept that there are many that do and don’t enjoy people constantly wishing it would drop. There are hundreds of other networks, you can just change the channel!

  • Tommy M.

    If AoS is like other ABC shows that premiered big and then floundered I wouldn’t be shocked to see it get a 2.8 or lower tonight. A 2.8 would only be a 15% decline from last week.
