NBC is Number One Among Adults 18-49, CBS Tops With Total Viewers in Week 2 Ending October 6, 2013

In week 2 of the broadcast television season ending Sunday, October 6 2013, NBC was number one among adults 18-49 with a 2.8 rating average. CBS took second, with  a 2.5 adults 18-49 rating average. ABC took third with a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating, and FOX was fourth with a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating.  Univision took fifth with a 1.1 adults 18-49 rating average. The CW finished sixth with a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating average.

CBS won the week with total viewers, with 10.850 million viewers, ahead of second place NBC with 8.720 million viewers. ABC was third with 7.370 million. FOX was fourth with 4.820 million, followed by Univision with 3.350 million and the CW with 1.370 million.

Each adults 18-49 rating point is a percentage of the adults 18-49 US TV population and equals 1.265 million adults 18-49.

    With cable added in, what does P2+ total – maybe 100 million?

    In a nation of 315 million?

    So something less than 33% of the public is watching TV in prime time?

    (Using household ratings creates a misleading impression, because only *one* person within a household has to watch for the *entire household* to be credited as watching…)
