SEASON-TO-DATE, “FACE THE NATION” IS UP +5% IN VIEWERS AND +14% IN ADULTS 25-54
Season-to-date, CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show, placing first in viewers (3.12m), adults 25-54 (0.8/04, tied with NBC) and households (2.1/06, tied with NBC and ABC). Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +5% in viewers (from 2.97m) and +14% in adults 25-54 (from 0.7/03) — the demographic most important to those who advertise in News — compared to last year.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, FACE THE NATION was up +13% in viewers (3.21m from 2.85m), +5% in households (2.2/06 from 2.1/05) and even in adults 25-54 (0.7/03), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 50% of the CBS affiliates.
On the broadcast, CBS News Pentagon and National Security Correspondent David Martin and CBS News Senior National Security Analyst Juan Zarate reported the latest on the terror raids carried out by U.S. forces in Somalia and Libya. Bob Schieffer interviewed Treasury Secretary Jack Lew; Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas); and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Schieffer also hosted a political roundtable with Gwen Ifill, co-anchor of “The Newshour” and moderator of “Washington Week” on PBS; Dana Milbank, columnist at The Washington Post; Jim VandeHei, executive editor of Politico; and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson.
FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer.
