FOX has ordered six more scripts for comedy freshman Dads.

It has a 13 episode order, and they are likely all in the can. So asking for an addition 6 scripts means very little. The question is who is going to be reviewing these? The same person that thought the original 6 were so good that they upped the order to 13 back in May?

  • nope

If the last episode ends with a mass shooting of the cast members, I’ll watch.

  • Maximillian

As I have said since day 1, this show will go through its ordered episodes and maybe a full season. Seth makes that network so much money, that they will give this show every chance to succeed before they pull the plug.

People really underestimate the power of politics in business.

It probably get a few more episodes then cancelled. Script Order dont mean episodes will be made.

I guess I am the one who actually likes this show. I still find myself singing the noble eskimo song.

So who is Seth sleeping with?

LMAO after whitney in 2011 and the neigbors in 2012, it would be HILARIOUS if, for the third year in a row, the comedy everybody was just “NO!” to and decided in may would be deader than dead was actually renewed.

  • Igwell

    Well deserved. Bravo, FOX.

  • Caitlyn

Wait… What? I know that scripts doesn’t necessarily equal more episodes but really? It’s the weakest of the FOX comedy block ratings wise now, and it’s critically hated so what are they thinking?

  • DenverDean

Good grief, they have RH waiting in the wings. That should is far higher quality than Dads and it certainly does not deserve to be banished to Friday nights. Perhaps, FOX feels that with tweaking Dads can be saved – not sure how – but they are just scripts.

  • Sarah

    Seriously?? Why?

  • Mitchell

I’d be very interested in seeing the M18-34 ratings for Dads.

Either way, I’m stil doubting that Raising Hope would be doing better than Dads. New Girl and Mindy are both struggling, and RH hit a 1.2 near the end last season!

My guess is that, along with Mulaney being ordered and Enlisted being pushed back to January, that all their midseason comedies must suck. It’s like the Goodwin Games all over again, but times three! Fox must figure that they can patch up Dads easier than any of these other newbies have a chance of being hits.

This show is funny as hell, I do think it should be moved to 9:30 due to awesome offensive material! :)

  • Kate

Good lord, why? This show is awful.

  • Nathan

    Same Ben & Kate mistake.

Also, I think CW quality is slightly increasing. At least the action series are increasing there. Somebody needs to fix Monday though.

  • David James

Well Fox has just cut the order for midseason comedy Us & Them, so it’s essentially cancelled according to Deadline. That leaves Enlisted which will probably go to Friday, Raising Hope’s already on Friday, so Fox has Dads, Surviving Jack and Mulaney to choose from for the Tuesday 8pm slot. I’m still doubtful the show they choose come midseason will be this one.

as i recall..prime suspect and last resort also had additional scripts…doesn’t mean it will make it past christmas…

  • Jon

    Wait a minute…..what?……..why?

  • Jagger Dagger

Seth MacFarlane… The most powerful man on earth!

  • L.Thompson

Really? I’ve tried to give Dads and Brooklyn 99 a chance but both show are terrible.
